Well... I did get some gold, but I haven't used any. So I did grind my way through all of doombringer, soldier, raider, jugger and tech as well as being almost done with pathfinder.
For now I'll just hope for another re-spec and just skip tech altogether... I just spent so much XP on that. Might not get the grenade launcher, and definitely not the shield pack, for raider as well. Pathfinder will be rather secondary as well. With that XP and all of my gold I should be able to spec all classes except pathfinder and tech (there's plenty of both already).
EDIT: As for the thumper-caused posterior pain I can just say that I don't get it. The thumper has shorter range and lower damage compared to the spinfusor. It's very powerful for a secondary weapon, sure, but the assault rifle is argueably weak for a primary one.
EDIT2: Just to clarify: My "primary class" isn't doombringer... I just play that often due to it's tactical significance. My primary class would be raider, as well as soldier as of late. Then I add jugger and doombringer whenever necessary... Tech was also "on a need basis", but I ended up noticing that there were enough techs already.

I main's were Doombringer, Tech, and Scrambler when I first started. Never got into Pathfinder. Never tried the Jumper. Played the rest off and on. Horrible with the sniper.
I loved the Scrambler and think it was a good idea to combine the class with the Raider. Whiteout grenades are awesome near bottomless pits.

Yeah, mained scrambler and soldier heavily. Got the jugger, since it was so cheap, and then just had a big pile of resources and nothing to spend it on.

Right now I main Infiltrator but go vehicle TCN as soon as I can afford it. Also use Jug if the Gen defense is too hard and their flagbase is full of ****.
Shrike defense is awesome fun. Offense... not so much. Always some Doombringer looking out for you with his Saber Launcher.
Man I need to play some now cuz I'm so ****ing mad at this TV series... *check Stochastic Cerebrations, I'm a goddamn emotional wreck*
I need to project this anger at people. *goes online*

The only two classes I'm completely uninterested in playing right now are the Technician, just because I don't like their style, and the Pathfinder, because I'm currently resentful towards them and wish AIDS upon them and their progeny. May they die a thousand deaths for their infidel ways.
The Brute was intuitively the class I looked at and liked the most, but my next pet project I think is going to be the Sentinel. I want to see what they can offer.
I probably respect the standard Soldier more than any other class in terms of demand on the player. Medium-armor gives them good mobility, but not obnoxiously endless jet pack power like the Pathfinder, and the Assault Rifle is a very demanding weapon to use effectively. I have no idea why they're called an 'easy to play' class in their description.

It's funny that the Brute is so popular now since it was easily the least popular when the open beta launched.

I have Sentinel unlocked but I didn't really like it. I use high DPI and a finger tip grip on my mouse... not ideal for sniping and I hate having to move my mouse too much.
I find SEN useful for clearing base defenses when there isn't a good Jug position though.
Quote: I have no idea why they're called an 'easy to play' class in their description.
They need to switch the base weapons and bring the Soldier that was actually "easy to play" back. Spinfusor and Eagle should be the starting weapons, with Assault Rifle and Thumper DX being the unlocks.

Soldier is the "easy starting class" since it's so well rounded. It is never completely out of position and can always beat an opponent. Since it's medium it can still move around, but wont get obbliterated instantly by any enemy and the spinfusor or the thumper is easy to use early on(completely agree that starting weaons should be switched). With a high energy it allows for an mistake or two (If you're playing heavy and your skiing fails, then you're pretty much stuck until you can regenerate some energy).
Especially the first one. The soldier is the only class that can do everything and do it rather well. If any other class was the starting class it'd cut off areas of gameplay for a beginner (jugger can't grab, sentinel can't go gener, raider is very hard to use outside(just diskjumping as raider takes a lot of practise) and so on).
EDIT: Got the inf today... It's friggin hillarious it is! A tad bit harder than I expected, since the stealthfusor did a bit less damage than expected, there's that awkward second where you're revealed before you actually throw the stickie as well as the delay into invisibility, but I feel like none of the three should be impossible to circumvent with a bit more experience.
I just love sneaking around their flag carrier and picking them off as soon as they stand still for even a second (I always imagine how they lift one hand off of their keyboard to scrath themselves or something... Tihihi!)! Or how, earlier, I was standing inbetwixt the carrier pathfinder and their doombringer and just caught the flag as they tried to switch carrier! Tihihi!

But... I'm the Inf player.
You're the heavy basterd and I'm the skinny one. We had this perfect little Yin Yang thing going.
THE UNIVERSE IS OUT OF BALANCE.
Haha... I use Looter + Survivalist for my Inf. I hear people swearing by Close Combat but I much prefer getting 2 Stickies per ammo drop. Also it's bugged and gives the same benefit of extra belt item as Safety Third so... WIN WIN.
Survivalist is absolutely vital for my playstyle as well... for most builds Survivalist is about getting HP, but for me it's all about the energy gain. I'm able to stay cloaked for minutes without pause if I sneak around the enemy base and grab Ammo Drops.
You'll soon experience that awkward moment where you have a turrets covering each other perfectly and a motion sensor that you can't destroy without rendering yourself visible or out of energy.
A good TCN makes life as an INF absolute hell. Good thing most are pretty foolish. Standing still while repairing gen? OH YOU ARE SO DEAD.

Yeah... I'm my own yin and yang though, playing mostly doombringer and raider... Doombringer building his nice little house around the flag and the base and the raider sneaking in and killing everything in the room fast than a jugger and then hides behind a crate until everybody's respawned... Ahhh...
I play with survivalst and looter as well. The extra ammo is just dandy(Stickies! VGW!) and I already had both fully upgraded for the raider... the basically do the same thing, in roughly the same way, but they do it very differently... it's a bit weird actually.
And yeah... the turrets are a hassle. They don't die from a single spinfusor, nor melee so I have to have either a corner or waste a stickie...

You can use the stealthfusor/melee combo for turrets.
Simply stand as close as you can to the turret and fire the stealthfusor at it without inflicting self-damage, and then rush into the turret and melee it.
It requires a bit of timing but once you've mastered it you can take out turrets in 1 second before they can lock unto you.

Well... I was simply thinking that I could use the pistol and do the same... same result but quieter and without the need for perfect timing. The only thing I need to do is to remember that I have that pistol ._.

Pistol takes way longer to kill a turret.
Sure you can pick off the turrets from a distance with the pistol, but you'll very often find yourself in situations where you are close to a turret and need to kill it fast right there
For example, you have 2 bars of energy left and you just noticed you have a turret behind you, if you run off in either way you'll run out of energy and be shot by it, what do you do?
Sound is irrelevant really, they'll still hear the sound of the turret exploding.

I mean that you take your pistol and fire one round at the turret, and then slice it with melee. Works like a charm. It doesn't take any longer, except that you have to switch weapon, but you can just do that as you're running up to it.

Really? Never heard anyone mention that. It's always Spinfusor followed by melee.
Will try that out, had no idea one shot would be enough.

If you have a spinfusor, why would you bother destroying a turret with a pistol?

Now, I'm not certain about the numbers, but they're close enough.
The stealth spinfusor that the inf has does 700 damage to light turrets. Melee does about the same. Light turrets have 800 hp (or something like that), so neither a melee hit or a stealth spinfusor will kill a turret and since any attack will break your invisibility the turret will start shooting at you.
So what you can do is take the spinfusor, shoot the turret and before the turret has time to start shooting you run up to it and strike it with a melee attack to kill it. However, you don't want to stand to close to the turret since the spinfusor has splash damage. Standing close to it and taking 400 damage just to make sure that it doesn't do any damage to you would be... redundant.
The pistol does 170 damage and no splash. Thus you can safely stand right by the turret, shoot a single round at it and the strike it with a melee attack (dealing just enough damage to kill it off).
Or in short: Because you don't need to and with the pistol you don't have to worry about splash damage (and thus not timing).

I unlocked the Doombringer to play around with. I figured using them would be an ideal way to fix my considerably trashy aim with direct fire weapons. Don't really like being a one-trick pony with the spinfusor.
edit: This class packs a lot of power.
