Shares... they removed our ability to flash-cloak...

That is... turning our cloak on and off really fast in order to confuse turrets and save energy at the same time.

Can no longer be done.

Why. WHYYYYY. Was it really a problem?

Well, I was assuming that they just added an inheritance to the tracking, rather than adding a delay for the cloaking. I noticed as well and it will take a bit of getting used to. I kind of liked the idea that there was no delay. This meant that with lightning reflexes you could unloak in a room with people in it, and then cloak as they turned around. I felt it was a nice touch that required a lot of skill, concentration and reflexes and in return allowed you to stay unseen for much, much longer. There was also some great risk involved in doing so, and I liked that. I would rather have seen a delay for the regen after you uncloak. That would remove the "problem" with people regenerating by turrets, as well as retaining the flash cloaking.
And it seems one stealthfusor disc still isn't enough for a light turret, but I didn't really get to try it more than once before the servers went down again.

Yes... reserving energy will be much harder now... ****.

Why in the living hell did they need to nerf INF? Were we overpowered? I sure as hell didn't notice it.

I guess they're just thinking of what's generally best for their fanbase considering that 60% of players are TCNs. Screw the minority, more fun for TCN!

Well, I do see the issue. A turret is meant to make a place unsafe, and the invisibilty is meant to let us bypass that, but I do think one might believe that it's an issue if infiltrators can take a lazy breather in a room full of turrets, but this solution does more than just fix that.

Seriously I can't play like this.

If I stand in a room and decide to uncloak and a TCN decides to pop in at that moment, and I re-cloak, I'm ****ed. Several seconds of being visible.

I feel like a suicide bomber now because running around the enemy base, cleverly dodging the enemies and quickly regenerating a bar of energy or two in corridors is no longer viable. We now have to find a completely safe spot to regen energy in or we run the risk of getting blasted to death if we get surprised. I know of no such safe places.

Why not just remove cloak and give us a box to hide in. I'm sure that's more balanced.

I'm assuming with the changes to infiltrator, there haven't been a lot of raiders sticking around base with a scrambler field active?

Scrambler's been very rare actually. At least since I started playing in november or so, and when there's a raider on field he'll usually go for offence. The defensive counter against infiltrators have been technichians (we have to show ourselves to take something out, and if there's a technician and a turret at the same place, then one of them will get to shoot at us.). Same with the motion sensors. We can either run into them and loose all of our energy when showing ourselves or we have to shoot it down, and then reveal our location regardless.
This and random fire. Especially with thumper techs and jugger mortars. They'll run around and fire in every corner they can find. Several times have I tried to stay close to them to not get hurt, but sooner or later they end up shooting themselves in the foot and hurting both me and them.
The more rare counter is other infs (that'll catch you off guard when you uncloak to regenerate), raiders with jammer packs, doombringers with forcefields and mines (the chain gun is great for the random fire thing. Most classes will have to reload, thus exposing themselves for a second, but not the doombringer) as well as drop jammers at times.

It seems it's not really a cloak delay, but a recloak delay. After you uncloak there's a delay of ~3-5 seconds before you can reenter. If you claok before that you're just wasting energy.

Well... I've liked the other patches... and this one as well... except for this little detail. Not that it's a bad mechanic. Actually, it's rather expected and when I first started playing infiltrator I was a tad bit surprised that there were no such delay. Hi-Rez and Tribes are however not really bound to do the expected mechanics for class based shooters, so I kind of liked it. It fits the game better than a delay does... this just turns infiltrators into an odd variation of raiders... suicide bombers, as Adrius said.

EDIT: Sorry, I shan't keep this ranting rage going. This is the last of it, unless stuff occurs.

EDIT2: No! I just realised what is that really bugs me about this! It's not that it scews the balance in any way, it's not that it promotes the technicians even more and it's note that the infiltrator becomes harder to play. It's the feeling in my gut when I play it. Before there were no moments where really the only thing you could do was to keep you fingers crossed. Sure, I've uncloaked so many times, just for somebody to walk around the corner just that instant, but that tension is what I like about the infiltrator. Before you could still keep you concentration up, and when that somebody walked around the corner you just instantly recloaked and if you did it quickly enough, and if you didn't act the way you're expected to, you'd make it out alive. Now, when you uncloak, there are these few seconds where you just cross you fingers and grind your teeth, because you know, that if somebody comes around the corner you're propably screwed regardless.

Yeah... you have to panic and spam stickies... hope you don't get a thumper in the head.

INF should be about patience, planned precision strikes when the enemy is most vulnerable.

Right now I'm a spastic freak nervously looking for a moderately safe corner to regen in while mortars and thumpers and sensors and mines and turrets and scramble packs and drop jammers and ****whatnot tries to kill me.

Fortunately all the other INFs in the universe seem to be in a union of lamentations at the moment so hopefully Hirez will listen. Also, with the current server crashes happening just about every 2 minutes Hirez might decide to go back to the old patch.

You could always try another class.  

That's what I did back in the far gone days of techs being worthless.

Might go with chaser PTH... it's a bit trollish to ruin cappers' days I guess. Close enough.

I usually stuck with metal playing Tribes.  It's really accented getting killed constantly quite well.

I thought about playing some metal in the background but it would ruin my concentration. Being able to hear the game clearly is important for me in my ongoing task of being a semi... killing machine... wannabe. Maybe if I listen to Feuer Frei in a deathmatch game it will multiple my skills and I'll turn into death incarnate.
