And why do you group them 5-6 and 2-3? 5 and 6 have nothing to do with each other.

Where is this fan base? As far as I see, months after release, not a single MP game was played in ToH or WCL or Heroes league (which are the only MP Heroes tournaments existing) and all maps made for H6 are ridiculous, see mapsforheroes. Statistics about multiplayer comparisons between H3-H5 can be found at ToH too. Maybe it has also to do that more games enter now in competition than at H3 release time, but the truth is H5 never got the MP aura H3 had. Not to mention single mapping, which is broken as hell, see angry comments to every large map released. Saving on large maps is causing crash and you still believe that game can survive? The most important thing in game-play is stability.
I group 2-3 and 5-6 because I group right ones against wrong ones. In my opinion of course.

To my mind, «Heroes III» and «Heroes IV» are the best games in the series. I voted for «Heroes III», because it has a very atmospheric campaign and absorbing gameplay. Nevertheless, «Heroes VI» is quite an enjoyable product for me too. But, to be honest, it should be developed more.

Heroes 2 will always hold a special place in my heart. It succeeded in every possible way: Sound, art style, gameplay, replayability. I love everything about the game.
Heroes 5: Tribes of the East is my second choice. Despite Isabel being the single worst character created by man, the game was well done.

Heroes 2 was great except multiplayer. The speed was not counterable and rehiring not reset therefore the one with the fastest creature could hit and run then hire again and do it again as long as he has the gold. Heroes 3 gave interesting and viable solutions to this enormous flaw.
