I voted for pallies cuz they are not straight forward unit as the crossbowman - you want a heavy hitter - use 1 stack of pallies, with good speed, initiative and dmg they will kill what they hit.But then u may want to turtle - no problem - use 2 stacks of pallies, right next to the overbuffed crossbowman and start the double lay hands-empathy-divine guidance combo.
And refined mana + seraphs is single player only, in multi that means seraphs DVing both pallie and xbow stacks . Also against which factions ? against academy its no-no, against Fortres u need fire resistance, against dungeon it doesnt matter cuz they will get nuked turn 1, against orcs its suicide to go with 25 def and for light magic for refined mana just to cast basic DV twice... Best use is imo to cast Rm on pallie or xbow turn 1. After that they wont have the mana to use DV against you. With seraphs on the field you dont need zealots to buff, so u can bring inquistors and/or splitt pallies for cleansing. Factions like necro cant make a good use of the Seraphs low defence as long as u have splitted pallies. But if u have all the pallies in 1 stack and use Seraphs it will hurt a lot.

why do use seraphs to buff units when zealots have the same spell with a higher mastery?

Yeah... I'm just gonna wait to the very end and then cast my vote to make as big a draw as possible.
Cuz that's the way I show my affection for Gnomes.

Quote: why do use seraphs to buff units when zealots have the same spell with a higher mastery?
becouse seraphs are better units than zealots and the army space is limited.
See those 2 lineups :
1.
Archangel Pallie Pallie Inquistors Zealots Griffins Xbows
Where the 2 pallie stacks are of the same size (half the normal size), 2-3 inquistors, 2-3 zealots, full griffin, full xbow stack
2.
Seraphs Pallie Pallie Inquistors Griffins Xbows Squires/Vindicators
In both cases you have the same light spells at your disposal, in the 2nd one you trade archangel's ressurection for 1 extra stack and solid Xbow protection:
PPSPP
PPXPP
Where P - Pallie, S - squires, X-Xbow.
If u use the first lineup, then u must put 2-3 zealots or 2-3 inquistors infront of the Xbows, and they may die too easily. Goes without saying that the 2-3 zealots will be compleately useless after they cast their spells, while a full Vindicator stack will make a difference.
It works even better when u have eternal light , that bless on Seraphs may stay forever.
Thats a standart Hrta anti necro build btw, hero goes for empathy, eternal light, retribuiton and the 3 skill points left in defence or enlightenment.

Calvalier is barely leading (5 points), followed closely by the angels and griffins (4 votes). If Adrius is going to make a dramatic tie, then...
EDIT: And now we come to our tie... the griffins and Cavaliers both have 5 votes.
EDIT 2: Still tied... is everyone on vacation right now? No new votes have been added.

Well, no one voted so I'm making the call. As the Cavalier wears more shiny armor when upgraded, I will give the award to them. Also, they just might be some of the strongest creatures in the game and I like them better. So Cavaliers, you guys win this vote!

Actually, Green/ crystal dragons won the Sylvan contest with AA coming in second once... but then TC voted and we had problems. So he robbed the whole tier of a win spot.
Not that there's anything wring with that...
