No, Era is independent, your heroes vanilla exe will remain untouched. You don't need another folder.

You can install Era in your H3 folder. I have 4 folders for H3. Clean GOG version, H3 Complete + HD mod, Heroes 3 with Era and HD Mod and my favourite Heroes 3 + HOTA + HD mod.

For Era you need one. For Hota another one. That's all. Vanilla or HD can be played from Era folder, their executables are independent.

I managed to install Era. It worked and I could launch it (I had the new menu screen with Wake of Gods written)
But as soon as I click on New Game, the game crashes. I'll try to make a fresh install tomorrow.

So I've been playing a lot since the reinstall, and as I said those
constant crashes with "trying to access restricted memory" and ctd
upon entering towns stopped, but my game is still not running all that
great. Often it feels kind of laggy and choppy, and every few in-game
weeks it freezes completely. Since it's not typical crash I guess it's
just based on lack of system or even hardware compatibility (windows
98/xp compatibility options didn't help)... so if anyone has some
other ideas I would be grateful.
Edit: Here are some specs, if it helps...
Windows 7 (x64)
Intel i5 750 @2.67 GHz
Ati Radeon HD 4850
8 GB DDR3 RAM

Does the original game also run slow or only era? Also try HD mod, and set resolution to 800x600 is you don't want different zoom. It has some files which prevent crashes. Yet I play without HD all the time and never a single crash or slow.

Original game worked fine, HotA also worked fine,
even better then original.
Just checked both values and they were both wrong
CpuPatch was 1
UseOnlyOneCpuCore was 0
Will try it out now,

hello everyone, im new but not new, i means uh ... i rarely comment or i could say never but i regularly walking around the forum seeing mods, etc....

Sometimes, i want to conquer some maps and download maps on map 4 heroes, but every times i play what's it give me it just a crash, i try to do every things like compatibility, etc ... but it still give me a crash.
and more thing i want to say is, may be you guyz will tell me it's about your system, OS, etc ... but i uh ... idk i mean it's may be not about the systems or OS , etc eh ?, im not trying to make an argue here, but please can you keep an eyes on my vids even a little, and check my description too i got 2 part on my videos.
and my install is heroes 3 complete + Era 2.46 + HD mod.
oh and sorry for my bad English cause im not good at it, so that's why i cant expressed or comment and im really sorry about that.
and i hope you could fix this bug at least not for me but for everyone who love this game.

Just wanted to say, since changing the heroes3.ini
game works perfectly. No more lag and no more
game freezes... so thank you Bersy!

Hi, kel, the bug is known. There is a fix for it that will be included in the approaching 2.47 release.
Bug fixes
Unpack the archive to [Game folder]ModsWoGDatas folder.

man, im sorry to say i still got that bug i uh ... idk what im gonna do now but have you watch my vids ?, if not please could you spend your times to watch my videos please, im not forcing you to do some things for me, but please waste your 14 mins for me.

i think you should check on those two scripts FIRST AID TENT I & II idk just try give it a try.

Have you reloaded your save after applying the patch? You must pres F12 to have changes. If still bugs, I suggest to try to keep monsters away from your tent, because it bugs only when in next to. Having -5 morale certainly doesn't help. I made 2 maps using warfare and I am aware of the bug and what to do. Never had any problems.
Until then you could help by uploading the save before that battle, and after applying the bux fix.

Hi, sal, first thanks you for your feedback.
second: i've try every kind, and some times it's work but when come to the next battle i still got that bug. And yes i do as you said is press f12 before battle and i see the line has appear ERM is updated.
i even made a new random map press f12 again but it still crash, seems like i dont have much choices here is to keep those monters away from my tent as you said, man but it hard what if i move my cursor without intention or accident move my cursor.
and i feel uncomfortable while play like this, and please dont blame me for that i didnt means by you've to fix this bug for me, but it's really annoying.
thirds is my noob question when you say reloaded my save file and help by uploading the save before that battle.
does that means i've to put my save files to another place, and put ERM files into WoGdata folder like Bersy said before, and put my save games back to save game folder. If so i've try but still nothing changed.
more noob question is when you said having -5 morale certainly doesn't help what does that means ? i really dont understand.
the different here is if i start a new random map then press f12 is the tent work for 1 or 2 battle but when it come to the 3rd battle i got that bug again or i can say it happens random idk....
ok, sorry for my blah, and i hope you dont misunderstand me, or even get angry with me cause i ask too much and got some stupid questions.

No, I mean the bug occurs when tent tries to heal someone while a enemy monster is next to. So the only solution is to kill enemy before reaching your tent.
I didn't look into this bug but I know it since long time. Will talk to Bersy about.

kel, I watched your videos and have no bug in my mod for ever after patching. So please, make a savegame before battle, where you 100% can reproduce the bug and upload it to wikisend.com

You must be kidding. GoG sells HoMM III for 9$. This forum bans for posting hacked or pirated games. And btw you don't need Wog 3.58, just heroes complete edition then install Era on.
