Okay, stupid question. I opened the exe. with winrar. But how do I run it in a way that leads to a succesful installation?

Em, executable should be run, not opened in winrar. But anyway, you can unpack mod contents into Heroes3/Mods/[Mod folder] folder and turn in on in Mod Manager.

Commander screen inside ERA not showing correctly
Was wondering if anyone have the same issue...
I downloaded v2.46 and installed it over Heroes 3 Complete edition. Tried both HD mod and with regular ERA.exe but the commander screen and other WOG related screen inside the game is glitching bad.... I cannot see anything on it... Only brown and white...

Some software blocked Era's hooks it seems. Try to open file properties for h3era.exe and set up compatibility with Windows XP SP 2 or even try to temporarily disable antivirus or proactive firewall like Comodo.

I have a problem with mad editor on windows 7.
When I run the map editor, h3wmaped, I get runtime error 216 at 00243b16
I tried compatibility mode SP2, I tried a fresh install with no mods, and I still get the problem.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Maybe try to run Fix Editor from Era Start Menu, but most probably nothing will help.

I've been playing what i think is the latest Era, and i just noticed something that really drove me insane. (I'd have started a new topic about it, but apparently i have to post replies first... silly forum rules...)
Anyway - When in combat, the AI seems to have infinite spell points. I started out a combat with the AI at 17 points, and after a few rounds he dropped to 0 spell points. The next round, he cast cure, the following two rounds he summoned elementals.
Is this a known bug? Does anyone know how to fix it? It felt really game breaking.

The only mechanism restoring mana points I know in WoG is Tower town commander's ability.

I don't have commanders turned on. (or stack experience. The only features i use from WoG really are rebuilding towns, custom teams, and rebalanced secondary skills, along with era's scrolling secondaries)
Edit: It seems like disabling the bundled faster combat animation plugin fixed it.

Nope, fast animation does not influence battle mechanics at all.

Turns out that was a coincidence. I had one of the options for enhanced war machines enabled, and didn't realize the ammo cart added spell points each round. With the carts destroyed, the spell points didn't return. I feel like a moron now for not reading, lol.

How to prepare ZObjects/ZEObjets entry/patch with Adventure Map Creatures?
I mean not to prepare whole file replacement, but to do it in ERA II spirit. I read once (but don't remember) how to prepare entries for visitable objects and terrain decoration, but I'd like a sample for AdvMap creatures (I Have already prepared creatures in battle thankfullly to amethyst).

I recall to recive warlords banners from tanking creature banks. While I'm not aware of any option for this that I have unselected it stopped to happen. Does any one knows what I must do to recover it?

There is wog option, but I dont recall its name, giving banners for battles. Just read carefully options descriptions.

Era Tactics not working
We are using Era 2.43 or 2.46 and the Expert Tactics skill has stopped working for 1 Hero (possibly for all heroes for 1 player, but he only has Tactics on l hero) even against neutral creatures. We are not using WoG Tactics (+Speed change) & just regular original Tactics.
We will try reinstalling 2.46, but is there a fix for this or at least a known cause?

Oriiginal Tactics Not Working

The Hero is Orrin on Teal team. The only WoG skill he has is Resistance. When I created a new game and gave Orrin Tactics and WoG Resistance then Tactics worked fine, but in this game entering a battle with Orrin always skips his Tactics phase.
