Found some reason of my crash:
it is somewhat related to Bow of Seeking
EDIT:
it also seems to crash when fighting Thunderbirds, but not crash when fighting Liches
EDIT:
found it! commander's death stare conflicts with multiple commander count. In new script for Nobility there is commander stats +% instead of commander count *2.

I'm sorry I have to reply here rather than making a new topic (which I can't yet as a new member)
I have some recurring issues with a game that freezes at some point, so let me explain the situation. They occur both in WoG 3.58 as well as in ERA, but it seems to affect ERA less.
I decided to edit a map in the editor to make it more to my liking and so I gave enemy heroes vast armies and increased their skills. I also made a few adjustments to the map, but nothing fancy like using scripts. When I was finally done, I tried to playtest it, but at some point during an enemy's turn, the game freezes. I have tried hard to find a solution in the map editor, but nothing helped. Now in my most recent game I discovered that when I took away a neutral monster on the map by cheating my way to it, then using town portal to get back to my area, the game didn't freeze. This leads me to believe the bug is when AI is in combat. The game freezes before AI engages in combat, however. I played the map before I pimped it and had no problems whatsoever, but then again, I have edited maps before in a similar way and had no issues then.
Does anyone have the same experience of games freezing this way? Also, does anyone know if and how I can fix this? I can provide saved games if necessary.

Put the grail close to your main town. It has a scoope so I usually say it can be 5 or 6 squares around so I don't "know" where it is but is impossible for AI to send scouting heroes to dig for it. In some circunstances AI digging for the grail can freeze the game. I don't know if it's the case but I'm betting on it.

In this case, the grail has nothing to do with it. I have never had that bug before, either.

I have the problem with ERA2. I have a graphic bug while fighting.

Don't use the option "new battlefields". To get new battlefields, install MORN mod.

looks like some of the new battlefield pcx files are missing, in case you used the new battlefield option. Do what sal says. Though i havent got any problems encountered yet with the included ones.

ugly Bug
Hm, seems thers an ugly Bug in Era / Homm3 :
Entering a town with a 57K Skeleton Stack and putting the stack to the garrisoned hero (putting the carrying hero into garrison keeps the stack), the stack vanishes!
Exchanging the garrisoned hero with the visiting one, the 57k Skeletons become -8022 and is only visible in hero screen, not in townscreen.

Why surprised, this is 15 year old bug and is due to original game 37xxx troops number limit. Bigger armies you can only safe-move using the slider bar.

yea good question, never stumbled across it yet and didnt read any warning about it. Ive read about big maps with ppl having like 100k of them maybe thats the reason i wondered. (and simply coudnt remember this written in some other forums known bugs section)

All my maps have warning about:

This is why I am so spiteful vs Heroes 3D, they leave lethal bugs as level up (from 75 and up you are screwed), vanishing troops, primary skills (from 125 and up they become negative), but is more important to well design Iona's butt shape.

yea nice for you and mapplayers aka the pro to know but since i usually play random maps and not that many its the wrong place for a warning for the average causual homm3 ppl like me playing not yet crafted maps. This should be in a sticky known bugs thread, i cant find here.
time for vcmi i guess

Well, those bugs are rare because they need a special setup, on 95% of known maps is almost impossible to get to such high numbers. And on randoms even less.

indeed, its my first time with that big numbers (besides early vanilla RoE with the creature growth bug) Trying out the xxl map mod (2 level) as random map and playing it to end to get a feeling for it.
