Seems like some software blocked DLL loading. Could you upload Debug\Era\exception details.txt?

OK, I will release in a few days an updated version, where we will be able to see, what exact DLL loading is blocked.
Till that, try to set compatibility rules for h3era.exe to Windows XP SP3.

It's true, I never released full package of 2.47x series and 2.5x series, only alpha dlls (the last of 2015).

Welcome, dude, it's not the last version still. I made automated package builder, thus releasing is much easier now, than it was in former times.

2.61 Bug Report
I just installed with a fresh install of everything and it runs perfectly. However, it crashes instantly upon trying to load it with the HD mod. I sent the crash log to Bara about it. It said that the no hota maps.bin was already created.
That being said, the game is running perfectly so far by itself and I'm anxious to get back into playing regularly
SIDE NOTE: I noticed when trying to open Maps Editor I get a crash error as well. This one in Era Log saying--
Core: CheckVersion
Result: 2.461
Plus another window opened with it saying--
ResourceManager::GetText could not find the "text" resource "ZEditr.txt".
Upon running the Fix Campaign Editor program, Maps Editor actually opened properly but with the Era Log in the program saying the same thing. However, when selecting the Water Objects, All-Terrain Objects, Towns, Monsters, Artifacts and Treasures tabs it pops a crash error saying==
ResourceManager::GetSprite could not find the "sprite" resource "SEE BELOW".
Filling out where it says 'see below'
Water Objects: zwvolc1.def
All-Terrain Objects: zcrbgod1.def
Towns: zobj001.def
Monsters: zmm150z.def
Artifacts: ava0000.def
Treasures: zchst1.def
Aside from that, when trying to drag any of the objects out that will show, it doesn't work at all for some reason.
Plus for as long as I've known the 'help' function in Maps Editor hasn't worked. I believe that may be due to a newer OS though.
Also, last thing, I think the Objects Editor in the launcher might need an update with it as it crashes as well with the error--
Component 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
Sorry to drop all of this at once, I just like to point out bugs with new releases lol

What HD version do you have? I use 4.205 RC4 and never had a crash but read that further versions cause constant crash. However I didn't have the time to test Era 2.61 yet.

» However, it crashes instantly upon trying to load it with the HD mod
Will be fixed in the next release.
» I noticed when trying to open Maps Editor I get a crash error as well.
Same thing is here. By some unknown reason I've got many problems with map editor. I will investigate all these messages properly.
» Component 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
It's a system library, probably missing in Win 10?, but existing in Win 7.

lets suppose, it is intended malware, do you think the bad guys would tell you?
the file is an .exe, so quite possible that your AVSolution blocked it exension based. As far as i can say, the file is clean, maybe try from link on 1. page (in case its a different one than your talking about)

Welcome
No, executable is not malware, it's simply program (self-extracting RAR-archive).
