Sorry mate, i Dont understand you. In order to keep my changes in units stats i need to have my typhon mode ACTIVATED ALL THE TIME. Whenever I turn it off, everyting goes to default. What you say is to deactivate this mode in Mods manager. So i quite dont understand you

I mean you can activate/deactivate Typhon at any moment. Now, if you go in Typhon/era plugins/MCrEdit, you get access to a powerful editor about anything. Sorry friend, you didn't pick the easiest mod for a start, good luck with that.

I noticed 2.8 is out now. I installed it up on a fresh copy, but it won't start at all. Gives an error saying Assert violation-something. It's not the .log file or anything since that issue was fixed in this one. But the error looks similar. I have yet to find a fix on my own so I figured I'd ask here if anyone knows what I'm missing.
I have the GOG Complete edition installed and I double checked the log file and directory. I don't see anything that could be wrong. Can somebody help?
PS. I'm away from my computer at the moment, so I won't be able to check anything until after work

on first page on this topic there is a link to all versions of ERA in one place.
such content as new towns are added by plugins or sophisticated mods, not the main era binary.
FYI I already added two new towns in my mod Knightmare Kingdoms. They bases on Idea by Jim Vogan and plugin Battery.dll
sadly my towns are so called "Neutral Towns" - it means you cannot start with them, they have no heroes, and have further limitations, but you can go inside and buy creatures or fight enemy army.
EDIT: Now I see. Mod system fails on era 2.8. We need to wait for 2.8.1

Ah, maybe that's why the update wasn't announced lol. I figured something was up
EDIT: Update 2.8.1 seems to have appeared! Maybe we have a fix!

Well, got that fixed, but sadly, now there appears to be something wrong with buttons.dll. It's not loading that plugin and won't start because of it. Not sure about a DIY way to fix it.

Oh that's weird lol. Having two won't cause any conflicts though huh?
On a side note, it's opening now but telling me GetBitmap16 couldn't find "bitmap16"resources Zmainmen.pcx, dfault24.pcx, Zpic1005.pcx and dfault24.pcx (again). Then it just crashes.
This is the buggiest startup after installation I've had in a long time lol.

Weird. Have you merged the files with the "Fix campaign editor" thing yet? I think that's supposed to help and I did that before running Era.
EDIT: Regardless, it is still weird. Hope we get a fix soon.

Hello, friends! Sorry for long delay.
For those, who downloaded 2.8..2.8.1: please, redownload 2.8.1 and install over clean game (not even previous Era version).
In short:
2.8.1+ is:
- Rewritten Virtual File System. Modslist.txt in UTF8 encoding, no compatibility settings on XP, Win 7, Win 10, Wine, no Lua errors, support for Unicode on system level. Performance boost, fluent GUI interface, full support for map editor.
- Fixed many stability related bugs.
- Integrated WoG Native Dialogs (native dialogs, stretchable for HD).
Version 2.8.1
------------------------
[+] Option CPUPatch was replaced by CpuTargetLevel (value 0..100), defining desired level of CPU load. Real CPU loading decrease is usually
greater than option value. 0 (almost not CPU loading in idle mode, but with possibly a bit not responsive interface or jerky mouse movement).
100% — regular game mode (waste of CPU time and battery).
[+] Integrated latest WoG Native Dialogs mod by igrik.
[+] Toolsinstallmod.exe utility was updated to support new UTF-8 format of Modslist.txt file.
[+] Added char* GetEraVersion exported function.
[+] Added event 'OnReportVersion' for important plugins and Era. Added void ReportPluginVersion(char* VersionLine) API to era.dll.
It's now possible to view Era and important plugin versions via right mouse button on Credits button in main menu.
[+] Added option 'Debug.DumpVirtualFileSystem'. If true, all virtual file system mappings are written in log.txt on game start.
[+] Added full set of English texts and gui resources to enforce language of core WoG mod.
[*] Added support for 'modlist' command line argument to map editor.
[*] Restored obligatory mod list report in log.
[*] Updated 'numeric creature stats.era' plugin by igrik. No more dependency on VC++ Redistributable anymore.
[*] Updated patcher_x86.dll by Baratorch to 4.5.4.
[-] Fixed bug: not all virtual files and directories were correctly mapped. Updated vfs.dll to 1.0.2.3 version.
[-] Fixed bug: some Era exported API used non-stdcall conversion and pointer to internal routines, rather then special wrappers.
This would cause immediate crashes in any plugin, that would try to use them.
Version 2.8.0
------------------------
[+] Fully redesigned and rewritten Virtual File System code, the core of Mods system. Added full concurrency and Unicode support.
Developed with Windows XP, 7, 10 and Wine in mind. Lua's 'script not found' problem is solved.
[*] (Internal code) Wrote patch/assembling module, implementing 70-80% of core patcher_x86 features, but with thread-safety. Fixes real crashes in parallel mod in game and map editor.
[*] (Internal code) Improved Era's logger implementation: added better concurrency support and recursion protection. Reduces potentional crashes.
[*] (For plugin makers) DisableThreadLibraryCalls is no more called for plugins.
[*] Era is now compiled in optimized mode.
[-] Fixed bug: Named functions (FU(XXX)) dictionary was not cleaned on new map start, but function automatical ID used to be reset. Thus any further scripts reloading via F12 used to create function ID collisions if scripts contained new function names.
[-] Fixed bug: Era's memory manager worked in single-thread mode (IsMultiThread = false), which could cause unpredictable crashes in all previous Era versions.
[-] Fixed crash if DebugEra directory was not created or could not be created.
