How can Era or WoG be uninstalled ? Last time I uninstalled HD mod, then HoMM3, then threw away what was left.
Something peculiar that also happened before I had tried WoG : each time I start HoMM3, Windows 10 claim that a program requires DirectPlay ask whether I want to install it. I have always declined.
Follow these Steps for Directplay download.
Open Run(WinKey + R) > Enter “Control Panel” > click OK> Programs and Features / Uninstall a Program.
In the right sidebar click “Turn Windows features on or off” > Double click Legacy Components > Check Direct Play > Restart Your PC to complete the directly download.
But win 10 must install it automatically when needed

I just realized that every 64 Santa Gremlins give 1 spell power to the icebolt cast.
its a shame that santa is better off attacking in melee rather than shoot bolts.
Edit: how do I change that?

With a simple ERM script. Or someone pulls out UN:C
What ratio would you suggest? 5 damage per unit plus sorcery and water magic would be cool imo.

Id suggest first it being rounded down instead of rounded up.
Second, Santa already cast it as advanced Water, maybe making him basic is better.
for these two alone, its currently much better to have 1 stack of gremlins each doing 40 dmg. which is crazy. but if rounded down and basic water it becomes 10 instead which is a lot more reasonable.
Third, we know that 1 SP do 20 DMG,
so any number between 10-20 for 1 SP should be ok-ish
Currently with the 64 Ratio, Every Gremlin give 0.3125 Damage bonus (starting from 40 Dmg)
If ratio was 20, every Gremlin will Give 1 Dmg.
If 10 gave 1 SP, every gremlin is doing 2 Dmg
if 8 Give 1 SP, Every Gremlin give 2.5 Damage Bonus.
in general, its 20/N is the bonus (N being number of gremlin for 1 SP)
so after this proposal, instead of starting 40+20X(N/64 rounded up)
it will become 10+ 20X(N/10 or whatever number we choose)
Things to consider:
1-) unlimited number of casts.
2-)No range penalty (esscentially becoming Sharp Shooter)
3-)it will ignore defense and attack (good for wizards, bad for barbarians, bad vs map, good vs heroes.)
4-)

this is just an attempt to fix it, but for now I will stick with master gremlin become they are not skewed.
at least for faeire dragon each 1 give 10 SP. he is strong unit and every one matter, but for santa its a bit weird when it gets split and what not.

I got a report in maps4heroes that my map Tew4 is unplayable under last Era version. So I dloaded, installed then started map. The CTD comes as soon as I try to cast spell in the first battle.
Can you please Investigate what's going on? Only TEW4 installed, here is the SAVED game

Val, you will need to remove era_hooker.era from mods for Era 2.9+ support. ERM Hooker 2.0 patched is now part of Era package. The decision was made, because everyone used to use it and pack it with mod. Thus, if you cannot control something, head it.

Thanks. That basically makes some of my mods unplayable if people have the latest Era, which I didn't test yet and unfortunately no time to do so in the close future

I'm investigating how the hero limiter era script someone posted works and what it does is rewrite memory. Can i use that info to hexedit that in the exe?
It does this

There is Igrik's plugin view mage guild which you may consider adding to next version. It allows checking available spells in guild without having to buy a spell book.

Hey Friends,
Every time I attempt to download ERA from the links provided my computer keeps stopping the download as it completes. It says Failed - Virus detected. Is this something thats happened with other people or do I need to somehow turn off windows defender to download this properly. This is my first time trying to use ERA so i'm a bit worried I might end up throwing something nasty on my laptop.

Guys, I need to see some different AI mods, prefferably one that makes AI smarter. though Id take whatever available (all the ones I saw were increase AI money or some other cheats).

I wrote a buggy battle AI script before.
Now I am remaking it.
Retreat AI: Computer will retreat more likely if it has more artifacts.
Spell AI: Computer will consider casting spells like Berserk apart from the original casting AI.
Siege AI: Computer will avoid stepping on the moat.
Attack AI: Computer will wait if attacking fodder stacks.

Hi! Please, try to download Era 2.9.3.exe and report what exact file Window Defender treats as virus? Era installer is sfx rar-archive, usually Defender dislikes one-two files in it (that you will never run actually, from Tools subdirectory).

Please alex can you check, I get error reports from player, looks like BA0&1000 trigger got screwed when AI attacks

Solmyr will attack you after end turn, his dragons should be reduced to 1 per stack, as script asks, but script isn't processed. I used debug messages, nothing shows
But the guy said that if HE attacks Solmyr, it works. So apparently BA0&1000 doesn't activate anymore when AI attacks you. I placed the script at the top of the erm file, same result, is ignored.

I don't know if this is the place to ask or not, but i'm attempting to pick up where i left off with modding, with a computer running windows 10. For some reason, when i try to open a def using h3deftool, it's opened, but with nothing displayed. The deftool defaults to a creature def instead of an adventure map object def, which is what i'm opening. When i change the type to "adventure object" while the def is open, still nothing. This makes extracting frames for work problematic.

I don't know what the problem is. I would try to replace H3DefTool/h3deftool.ini with the one from any Era package.
