Quote: The auto / quick save script is interesting but it would be nice to have more options. It would be nice to have an option to simply save to a numeric file with no limit. First time is 001, second is 002, etc. I can't imagine that would be too difficult to do. Maybe I need to figure out erm...
HD-mod has similar feature in tournament mod.
Quote: I found the erm for dummies thread over at ch. Very interesting. First goal is to figure out quick save as noted earlier. Probably won't be able to implement as noted earlier (001, 002, etc) as it would require knowing which saved files exist. Might need to go with YYYY-MMDD-TIME, assuming that erm can pull current date time and extract as noted. Or even if it's the old excel date time number, main issue is that it needs to be a unique number. Yes, it would result in many saved files which would need to be cleaned up from time to time but that maintenance would be well worth it to avoid several clicks every time you save.
Do you mean in-game or real date?
Quote: Maybe if the quick save saved a file with both the week and day. Not week 1 thru 4 but week 1 thru 52 (104 if it goes two years).
This is simple.
"Tools\Erm Editor\erm editor.exe"
Open file "Mods\WoG\Data\s\era - quick savings.erm"
Replace "%Y2_%Gc_End" with "%Da_End" and you'll have different savegames for every day.
"%Y3_%Gc" => "%Da"
"%Y1_%Gc_Quick" => "%Da_Quick"
Anyway, here is table for macro:
"%%" -> "%"
"%F#" -> current value of # flag.
"%Vf"..."%Vt" -> current value of corresponding variable.
"%W1"..."%W200" -> current value of corresponding hero variable.
"%X1"..."%X16" -> current value of corresponding function parameter.
"%Y1"..."%Y100" -> current value of corresponding local variable.
"%Z1"..."%Z1000" -> current value of corresponding string variable.
"%$macro$" -> macro name of corresponding variable
"%Dd" -> current day of week"
%Dw" -> current week"
%Dm" -> current month"
%Da" -> current day from beginning of the game"
%Gc" -> the color of current gamer in text
Quote: Is there anything else I can do to fix it or is it down to Windows 7 64 bit incompatability?
Set no compatibility mode for file. Run it and install as administrator on disk "D". Be sure Data Execution Prevention is off.

@salamandre
Thanks. It looks like I'm ok then. I didn't think I was supposed to wogify. I assume that the map has it's own custom wogification settings that will override whatever I have selected.
@Bersy
Thank you, thank you. I have no time now but I will look closer and try to make the edits later.
Thanks again

How to enable cheats ? I can't seem to find cheats that work. I tried normal ones, for armagedon's blade and for complete version of heroes 3.

@Doc1994: I used the HC Search function to search for "WoG Cheat Codes", and found this great summary by Bersy:
http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=35576
@Master_Learn: it looks like some Chinese hex-editor or disassembler, possibly named "C32ASM". Google gives this link (among others): http://www.skycn.com/soft/43110.html

Thanks for the replies, alas I cannot get it working even after uninstalling everything and reinstalling HoMM3 Complete and running the ERA 2.3.exe installer as an administrator.
Oh well, back to the shelf for HoMM.

Alright, im new to this, obviously. But i was able to successfully download and play wog. this, however, is a different story. i have many questions too.
First off it will not let me play... this is frustrating and i would love for someone to walk me through on how to properly install and play this.
Do i have to uninstall wog for this to work?
Well, thats all i can think of right now. please, take baby steps with me because right now im very confused. ive been playing this game since i could remember but i just recently got into the mods(which are awesome) and need guidence. i appreciate any help because i really want to play era2. ( P.S is it something playable, or just something that mods/enhances an already installed game?

Got to Bersy's Era 2 Mods topic.
Download one that sounds/looks good. (Some are more to add new objects for modding than to play.)
Run the downloaded .exe file, which does all the extracting and setup needed to load the mod. E.g., double-click on the .exe file which you downloaded in Windows Explorer.
The only thing you must do then is select the (previously installed) Era 2 folder as the place to install the mod. (You may need Administrator privileges to run the self-extracting mod file.)

Bersey I think there may be a problem with the map editor loading .msg and .msk files correctly. When you right click something and say advanced properties, the passability does not show up and always says the .msg file is missing or formatted incorrectly.
Do you get the same thing?
