I don't recall whether WoG Revised or Updated changed the Battle Academy script. If so, then the revised version might also need an adjustment. The script in Draker's game seemed to come directly from WoG/Data/s.

Yes I understand, but since in Era 2.5 Bersy wants pure original Wog, wont all script fixing be shifted to Wog Revised, I already have a personal folder named WogFix that I keep to add to Wog when 2.5 comes out to modify Wog, including stuff like wrong specialty displays of Jeddite and Nagash, mithril price list shrinked and so on, but since this is a script change, I thought Wog Revised is the new platform to fix stuff.

I have no objection to whatever Bersy and the rest of you decide, but I am not sure exactly what Bersy plans with respect to the original WoG 3.58f scripts - no changes including no bug fixes, bug fixes only, or something else. Anyway, I see no harm in including all bug fixes in another mod also. It would benefit people in the meantime to be able to download a package of the latest WoG scripts.

Yes that's why I suggest fixing the original script. Battle academy is not in wog revised, and there is no error, just a typo in a comment added to original scripts by JimV. A simple fix (!!-->*!) in the original package when era 2.5 is released would suffice IMO.

Hey guys,

I'm having some trouble: I've installed ERA on Heroes 3 Complete edition and a few mods: Covenant Town, Grove, XXL and New Upgrades - this last one being unactive.

I'm having some problems, maybe you can help.

1) I change the WoG settings to my preferences (no commander, some SS tweaks, etc), save it, but everytime I restart the game it resets. This is so annoying because it take me quite some time to put it to my tastes.

2) Having the Covenant and Grove Towns active (Covenant by the WoG settings, Grove by the ERA Mod Manager) the game crashes with the following message (I thought it created a .txt with full info about the error, but couldn't find it. If anyone knows if it exists and where it is, I can paste the info here):

When I disable the Grove Mod on the Mod Manager the game starts normally. I've tried to move WoG up on the Mod Manager, but when it's on top, it just doesn't run.

What is really annoying me is about this WoG settings.

If someone can help me i'll be extremely grateful

P.S. If this is not the right place to post about it, please redirect me to the right board/forum.

EDIT: Just before posting I've made one last tast. It seems that when I saved my WoG settings, it used the "settings.dat" name. But, when loading, it used "WogSetupEx.dat".
So, I've configured it and saved it with the aforementioned name and it saved my changes. I've tried closing the game and reoponing it and it's doing fine.

Confirmation if this is the right way to do would be welcome as well!

Replace in Grove/Data/s with THIS FILE, it will allow grove to run without crash.

But I am not sure both Grove and Covenant towns can work at once, they were not tested that way.

I don't know of any argument which could convince Bersy to do a copy/paste work (believe me, I tried). And only him can update.

If Covenant town is unchecked it should not overwrite anything, so I would assume Grove would work. I never released ERA version did I? lol maybe I will it's sitting around somewhere.

Thanks for your help, it worked!

I've just a minor issue now that affects both the Grove and the New Upgrades mods:

- Creatures have their sprites and abilites mixed up. I don't know how to explain this, so I'll exemplify:

- Blood Minotaurs (from the New Upgrades mod) are shown as Fire Messengers on the hero screen. It does look like a Blood Minotaur on the battlefield, but it have the Fire Messenger abilities.

- Same goes for the Grove units. Level 3 unit (don't remember the name) which i belive was supposed to be a shooter by his bow, can only make mellee attacks and have the Serpent Flies portrait, altought the sprite on the battlefield is right. Level 2 unit is a shooter, like the Lizardmen.

I believe it's a problem with the mods order, but don't know how to solve it.

The order by now is like this:

- Covenant Town
- XXL
- Secondary Skills Scrolling
- Yona
- Fast Battle Animation
- Grove
- New Upgrades
- WoG


I've seen that with the Grove mod being the first the game simply won't start. It happened also when WoG was the first one.

Any tips?

New Upgrades or Grove should be turned off. They overlap.

yesterday after I reinstalled windows due to a missing boot file. so its a clean install of complete and era2 every mod(grove,Covenent, pheonix,hol) works fine on its own but the mod manager wont disable or let ne change priority(even tried it with just the included mods).

era 2.4 works fine its just the mods manager under the era start menu that wont work it just flashes(like its trying to move the mods around but nothing moves) when i clik on any of the commands.

I wrote to mod manager author. Open Mods\lists.txt in notepad and change mods order manually for now please.

To disable mod just add before its name some symbol like #.

Updated first post with link for 2.43.
Finally got the reason fo multiplayer crashes, including quick saving problem. H3/WoG rely on fixed saved games size when generating and applying diff file. Era has dynamical memory and custom sections in saved games.

The crutch was to add option "SavedGameExtraBlockSize" in heroes3.ini. Zero by default means no padding. Other value defines strict Era section size in saved game. It should be large enough to hold the Data. I recommend 4000000 at least. In gzipped file padding almost don't influence the size.

Is there a one exe file link of 2.43? I wanna back up 2.4 but I prefer to keep it as a single file of latest version instead of 2.4.0 and small update file of 2.4.3
