Here's one from me:
Christians are so poor, they only have one God
[/lame joke mode]
Back on topic, whatever I believe in, it's not forced to me by others and I guess that's something.

Quote: In reality I think that people got more educated and understand that there is no god for them that offers salvation.
Instead, they believe in reincarnation, scientology, little green men, Nibiru, Mayan calendar, horoscopes, [insert hipsters' new religion here].
How educated of them.

in 2013 I'll be laughin' like the Joker in the faces of all the fanatics people who thought the world is going to end because a calendar says so.
it's not religion that defines how civilised or educated you are or anything else about a person IMO.

If christians are poor, then hinduists are super rich and atheists have nothing at all... more or less the opposite of reality. Maybe life standard is connected to number of gods.
I would love to laugh at those people too after the so called end of the world but our number of nutcases is not comparable to that of america.

I wonder how many people do really believe in all that crap.I doubts that it is a majority.
To me,these guys are seeking attention. The end of the planet types of people have always existed, except that in those times they were executed for promoting hysteria.
Green little men is just another bullsnow from these type of people. Its just attention.
Again, this just basically proves that we are the same idiots we were 2000 years before. The only difference is that we are a bit more educated, not more rational or intelligent.
But,there is a difference. We have the means now to dismiss idiotic claims.
Green little man,the giant ball of death, mayan calendar, scientology and whatnot can easily be disproved.
All alien sightings were reported to be fake(Tells allot about the authors of such claims).
The gibberish ball of death cant be seen by telescopes, where is it? It does not exist.
The mayan calendar has been proven that it means nothing, not only that the assumed 2012 number is wrong.
Scientology is a religion,or a brainwashing, indoctrination organization that sucks money.
All of this takes 15 minutes on the web to find out.If people are fond of believing in bullsnow, for the love of terra, let them.

either you take Revelation as literal and go nuts, or you accept that it may be symbolic and then you get into a whole lotta things... either way, I try not to worry about the end of the world scenarios.

Koran predicted the attack on the West to Middle East, but the Bible said to Israel. I'm not sure that the Buddha predicted the battle of the ancient astronaut. As soon as it is all over when it is not true. For example, the prediction? Is not true, it is a religion. I can not help..

Quote: <<Infact, in Europe it's been widely abandoned and even the religions here consider it a myth.>>
Don't generalise. Religion is not widely abandned in Europe, and maybe people just don't think that only "going to church" means believing.
No, I said creationism is largely abandoned in Europe, and even religion themselves (catholicism first, the pope denied creationism and accepted the evolution theory) consider it a myth.
I do think religion is needed for some people (or maybe just the belief in god/afterlife), but creationism is definitely not.

Well, it's kinda unfair to compare the Europe to the US when it comes to religion. After all the US is kinda like the Saudi-Arabia or Iran of Christianity.

Sorry I misunderstood. I agree that one does not have to believe the literal 7-days story, and I don't see how can anyone still believe that, there wasn't even a sun or Earth to call it 24 hours, it's clearly symbolic.
