Alternative Heroes 3 Gaming
Hello guys,
Old Heroes 3 fan. I just wanted to ask if you have any good suggestion for someone who would like to try something new on heroes 3 or generally any suggestion that can make you keep playing this game for hours.
I have the complete set and pretty much played plenty maps and all the campaigns. I have played the Heroes Chronicles which unfortunately apart from the Clash of Dragons which was a great campaign the others were very easy. I have also tried WOG not very much though. It brought many controversial changes which I really didn't like.
I recently discovered on the web the Forge Town Project and the Horn of the Abyss. Do you have any feedback on those?
Lastly, is there any good place to download some high difficult interesting and such maps for heroes 3?!
Thanks a lot!

You can disable almost all of them. Also, most of good WoG maps come with custom settings which ensure that the game will make sense and not just be a bunch of random scripts.
HoTA is released in Russian only. Forge is going to be released in unspecified future, but after they joined HoTA it's pretty certain.

At mapsforheroes.com you can find a lot of good maps for SoD, notably chinese productions, which are very interesting and challenging. Unfortunately a lot of them can have problems late game, with random spawns and AI turns freezing. Read the comments before choosing map to play.

Salamandre, thanks for that will check it out.
Hota is a mod, not an expansion? If it's a mod can you download it for free then? If yes, could you give me a link please?
Do I also need to have anything installed to play Hota? Possibly the complete set right?
Warmonger, I followed the link on your sig about Wog. It says recreated. I guess it deserves a try right?
Thanks guys.

^Has a pretty good list of maps. Should keep you occupied for quite some time . My personal favorites are "Running with the Devil" and "Sander's Folly".
