Looks to be a problem with 196+ creatures... which no one else has a problem with. Does you error occur when the mod is turned off? Yes= your H3 folder has a problem (ERA install as Salamandre said). No= legitimate error, and then I'd say upload save game.

I received no error with your save game. Must be a problem either with your ERA as Salamandre said, or else I am not sure, but without seeing the error I can't debug sadly.

Maybe the reason is the "New Upgrades"? I turned off the mod, but for example, Grove and it does not work. I must to wait for newer versions.
But thank you for interest, I check it out thoroughly. Maybe it was a coincidence.

I should have uploaded this a while ago (as it was done) but I forgot to . Admittedly because of the ease of Mod Manager in ERA 2, the whole concept of turning the town on and off sort of became obsolete. However, I did update the town to be fully ERA 2.4 compatible and with some fixes and updates. I'd say this is most likely the final release of the mod. Thanks to everyone who played and enjoyed it, I had a blast making it.

Hmm... my computer says it's a virus. Could you perhaps upload it as a zip or rar file? There's no need for .exe anyway with ERA.

Yes, I understand, but my virusscanner is a little paranoid and I can't open it unless I inactivate my virusscanner, which doesn't seem like a smart thing to do. I can of course just use the old version of Covenant town, then, but if you would want to make a normal rar of it I'd be very grateful. If not, no love lost.

If you change the file extension from exe to rar you can just move over the folder. The exe just does this for you, but that should get around it.

I think Era 2.5 should bring back .rar files as install, I had also many problems with *exe files.

My virus scanner does not allow me to run h3era.exe. Perhaps a virus. I will delete the game.
Self-extracting archives and even installers are so popular, that it's user problem to shut down out-of-date scanners.

You can upload your mods as regular rars. people will decompress and put in mods folder manually. It's something the mod maker decides, what has 2.5has anything to do with it?

I have a good antivirus so no problem with exe in general. Mods already converted to era by you are safe. Mods converted to sfx by noobs are a problem and you can't guarantee they will be harmless. When Fred released his graphic patch, he tried to make sfx, I downloaded it then it blocked my computer, impossible to kill the process in task manager, all froze, had to reboot and then had a 2 hours HD scan because it damaged something.
So when new users release mods as exe files, you can't be sure they are safe, and even if antivirus says nothing, they can harm.

It has everything. Before 2.2 any mod unrared in root folder was considered enabled. Now it needs exe file and post install command. When is properly done and you know the guy, is perfect. But it seems few people know to do that.

Can't you just stick the folder into /mods and then enable it with mod manager? I mean I made the fancy sfx thing to it would run installmod, but that's all it does right? It enables it and adds the name to list.txt, but that's the entirety correct?

Just for the record, I downloaded it again, ordered my antivirus program to calm down and I extracted the exe manually and all is well now.

Ayreon, your antivirus is false positive. Because rar sfx contain the same body for all archives + concrete rar contents inside. Such executables can be unpacked (and thus verified) using WinRar, plugins for total commander and possibly other archivers.
Quote: Before 2.2 any mod unrared in root folder was considered enabled.
The proposed way was always installmod.exe. Because the internal structure of mod system can change (and is changing), while existent mods should work. Now mod manager can install mods from rar archives.
I will continue to release sfx. From some moment I always specify "<heroes3>" as path (+save path in registry) and you even don't have to select Era folder each time. Just run the mod file and press "OK".

Right. Of course it removes all previous duplicates of mod name from list and adds in to the end. A bit more complex thing for future versions, but the principle is the same. Installation via rar-archives and mod manager or sfx.
