Mobility is the key to victory, more or less independent of map size. Logistics heroes will develop faster than any other type - will be involved in more fights, visit more power-ups, etc

If someone posts their heroes, can you also say the speciallity, because it's been a while that I've played heroes3 and I've forgotten about the heroes names and special skills...

Magic heroes:
Elementalist 0/0/3/3/ & Warlocks 0/0/3/2 are the best - highest spell power.
Wizards suck b/c they get knowledge way too often.
1. Solmyr (b/c of his speciality)
2. Ciele
3. Malekith
Might heroes:
The best might are Barbarians and Beastmasters:
Starting skills 4/0/1/1, 0/4/1/1. Moreover they have the greatest chances of increasing their att(barb)/def(beastm) while lvl up.

One more thing:
If you wanna play Necro your no.1 is Isra - might.

Since I play mostly Tower and Dungeon, I will stick to their heroes! Orin as an exemption...
Magic:
1. Solmyr (Chain Lightning)
2. Jedite (Ressurection)
3. Melekith (Sorcery)
Might:
1. Torosar (Tactics)
2. Orin (Archery) - If available for Tower to recruite
3. Gunnar (Logistics)
Overall:
1. Torosar - Well balanced build up!
2. Orin - Attack skills with archery are kick ass!
3. Solmyr - Chain Lightning + Sorcery + Air, great for big combat!

I dont like heroes that depend on certain things to be good. I have played many games where Jeddite didnt get earth, Terek air, or Loynis water until it was too late. I dont like barbarians and beastmasters also (Tazar and Hack being exceptions) since they wont have any magic capabilities until mid game (at least on most random maps).
My favorites:
Magic: any intelligence hero
Might: any armorer/offence hero, favorite Mephala
Overall: Gundula - well, she can be both might and magic  , any logistics hero

Magic: Dessa/Gunnar (logistics)
Might: Dessa/Gunnar (logistics)
Overall: Dessa/Gunnar (logistics)
Gunnar is great for tactics, Dessa is overall my favourite. These two develop roughly similarly statwise; Dessa gets more magic skills but can easily geet offense/armorer, Gunnar always likely to get earth. Dessa gets 2 fashion points for glowing eyes/skeletal parrot, Gunnar get his for the minotaur that he is and the barbed shield
The barbarians, although statwise I like them best, unfortunately don't have a logistics specialist. And they get funny magics at times

Always love to have one of these specialists as my main, but I love the logistics specialists too!!!
you may note all are "good" heros tho, because all the crap artifacts love me so much, I have to have a hero that can trade em in at the altar
There are also so many good heros that didnt make the list, I always like to see Alkin (Gorgon Specialist) because he starts with Armour and Offense. or any scholar hero that also starts with wisdom for a good scholar scout. or the hell hound specialist (exp scouting at lvl 2 every time. many great heros, just mebe not as my main.

Personally i prefer heroes with + resources as scouts. And a scout who has scouting isnt that bad either

+ and of course, Solymir with his ChainLightning!!!
Might heroes:
+ Tazar with his Armorer bonus
+ Kyrre with Logistics
+ and Crag Hack with Offense is good also
Overall:
hard to say... I guess my three first heroes are very good, but so are some of Might heroes... Solmyr is just great (I've won _another_ victory with him today ), but if I can, I ALWAYS choose Gelu. He's really the best hero in the game!!!
