so the AI DOES cheat on normal?
I thought that, since it had an ENORMOUS army while I controlled over half of the maps creature dwellings, had 5 / 7 buildings week 2, and had very few loses.

This would be understandable.. such advantages have been in the past, and if he would have the same situation as you, he would not have a chance since he is only a limited AI that does not have the option to load etc.
But one AI advantage I do hate is his "I See everything" ability. He just does not have to explore, he knows all. I do not know, how else he could exactly know, where my castle is, that I do not have any heroes in it and my army is to far away to return on foot. And he does this every game. Nobody enters my part of the map and sudanly a naga hero comes and goes the most direct way to ma castle. I understand Cheats for AI are needed for the game to be enjoyable, but this is one I do not support.

Some thoughts about balance.
- They should really change Sanctuary's water walk. It sucks that we can't use multiplayer maps with water on it because of it.
Either, Sanctuary keeps it but all heroes get a waterwalking spell with a low mana cost. Or one of their weak special buildings could be changed to provide it.
- Sanctuary early special buildings are to weak compared to their price and I never build them on 1v1 multiplayer maps.
- The 4th level of their racial skills sucks and is not worth saving for. The only thing it does is to inflict enemies with the weak Chilled effect. A suggestion is that instead, it gives Sanc units the chance to freeze their enemies when struck.
- The Glories AoE dispell is still craaaaazy OP!
Otherwise, I must say that Sanctuary is an amazing faction that feels really balanced and gives the player a lot of options!

This is really part of the broader problem that chilled sucks. There is a whole chilled theme and the whole lot of it is useless.

Reducing a melee unit speed to 0 is nice, though. For example with an Ice Bolt.

(actually that could result in 0 movement if used with the Wanimaze cripple ability)

Chilled reduces movement by 2? That's not so bad. I thought it did 20% vulnerability to fire damage, I remember someone making a point that no faction has access to both fire damage and the chilled effect making it useless.

Chilled effect reduces movement AND gives 20% vulnerability to Fire damage. Only Stronghold can use both Fire and Water magic schools so would need something like Blizzard (with Eternal Winter) to chill and then cast fireball/fire storm to get multiple enemies to suffer....
It does seem cumbersome to go this route as Air Magic is a must for Magic Orcs...

Nope. It reduces speed just by 1, not 2.

No, still 1.
By the way, a bug that bugs me is that "Chilled" effect + Slow should stack, but do not.

July 12th was the date 1.5 was released. Then 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 came out also.
DATE FOR 1.5.2 patch: JULY 25th.

It reduces the Initiative of the enemy unit too! At least it does when I attack an enemy with my Sanctuary Yuki-Onnas (may be a special of the Yuki-Onnas, however).

1) Yes, sorry - in the Russian version the name of the two effects is very similar, unlike in the English version. So in the Russian version it is easy to confuse the two.
2) Reduces by 1, not 2.

It is 'Wanizame' (not 'Wanimaze'). "Wanizame" seems to mean "shark" in Japanese.

Is that in Campaign or Single map? Which Campaign mission? Which month/week were you into when you met that HUGE army?
I have not yet met a Campaign mission that would be hard, with just 1-2 minor exceptions (when playing as a Might hero). Playing on Normal, just 4-5 Campaign missions to go (playing the Campaigns in the supposed Chronological Order) + Epilogues.

now I'm not saying that it makes the game to hard, but that it is kinda lame that the AI has to cheat in order to be challenging

Finished the Pirates campaign and then went back to normal campaign to finish the epilogues...
Then wanted to show a mate the Pirates map 2 on the cool graphics and the save game won't load.....my current saves on the epilogue work though, but still.
Seems like silly discussion again on saves but I thought 1.5.2 sorted saves out....

It's time like these I really miss oldschool games which didn't depend on internet connection. Sure those games had issues like save crashes, but at least frequent server downtimes and stupid save systems didn't affect your gaming experience... Times when we got full-fledged expansion packs instead of some expensive and poor DLC sh*t (that's for you devs)...
Also it seems, that in my case, the addition of town screens made the game more unstable (frequent crashes) then it was before...sigh...

I'm glad I deactivated the cloud sync. I never had any save issues since.

On the contrary! Practically every time after playing the game for more then 2 hours and quitting, I get a sync error, so my saves go to hell. As a countermeasure I stop playing, take a break, and restart the game every hour. Healthy but frustrating...
