Gamescom'12
Following this event of facebook we are told (for at least second time) that his year the Might & Magic franchise has a lot to reveal at Gamescom (16.08.2012 - 18.08.2012).
So I create this thread to discuss what we can expect....and after, what we are revealed.
My bets:
- Second DLC for Heroes VI announced, with Sandro and more
- Three spin-offs of the franchise.
- No expansion for HVI
¿What do you think?

In my opinion we'll probably see a new Might & Magic RPG-like game, although I want to see Heroes 7 (let me dream) or maybe an expansion/addon to Heroes VI.

Heroes VI Elven Wars -> expansion with Sylvan and Dungeon factions
Heroes VI Silver Cities -> expansion with Academy faction
Oh, and probably a Necro DLC
But seriously I think that an adventure pack is all we will get, and maybe something about expansion with only one faction-> Dungeon (which would still be good news), but only as a teaser...
In the case that BH didn't leave any code for expansion packs, I don't think that Limbic had enough time to make one...

What I expect to be announced at gamescon:
Adventure Pack(s) for Heroes VI; Necro certainly, maybe more.
Release date for the Card Game, I can't remember what it's called.
News about the Compendium, releasedate or change thereof.
Likely the expansion of Heroes VI, they've been hinting at that being in the works enough already.
Perhaps a new M&M game. Given the fact that server M&M sounding IP-adresses have been claimed by Ubisoft, that's probable.

I really don't think that DLC is suited for factions. Everyone is ging to get the expansions, I consider the DLC to be extra single player content. Whether or not Ubi agrees with me is a completely different story.

Interesting.. and your source is? You seam to have a lot more information then the rest of us...
Ubisoft has released a lot of information so far implying we will get content (DLCs), but no new factions:
"The 1.3 & 1.4 patches released by Limbic proved their ability to build upon the existing features and improve the state of the game while expanding its scope.
But we need to keep in mind that they are a relatively small studio which is not geared up to produce full scale content, so our objectives remain reasonable, with a clear focus on quality and on-time delivery. For the moment everything is happening as planned, so no reason to get worried about anything. "
Source
"Are we ever going to get the free DLC with the Academy faction that Black Hole promised back during the beta ?
We do remember this, and we know this is based on miscommunication. But there is a lot of things going happen, and we have plans."
Source
[The "lots of plans" turned out to be the overpriced pirate DLC and patch 1.5 which was delayed and did not fix the online saves as promised].
Erwan also said that in a future Heroes game they would keep the engine. Which means they can't wait too long, because the engine will be outdated by then. With the 15 people working in Limbric (14, because one is solely concerned with number balancing) an expansion would take too long. Now they are beginning to patch the game and working on DLCs simultaneously. The game has been out for how long already? And is admittedly still unfinished as by the end of june;
"if you were going to make another heroes game in the future, what types of things did you learn from h6 that you would apply to it?
Try not to release an unfinished game!" Source
They'll probably give out a few DLCs, and then try to sell Heroes 7 in a few years with a new studio that will go bankrupt.

You are also forgetting that HVI was a colaborative effort of several studios at the same time. The workload was never wholly on BlackHole. Limbic got involved before BH was out of the picture.
So, there is no stopping Ubisoft from hiring another studio to take on developing an expansion.

Except money. So it's a good thing they they've shown the willingness to spend sufficient resources and funds in order to get a satisfactory product so far

I get the Low-hopes attitude, but there is no need to be spitefull.
And yes, Ubisoft got the budget-allocation wrong for Heroes VI. That does not make them tight-fisted misers.

Wasn't it stated somewheres that Ubi had to publish Heroes VI in the state it was, because BH couldn't finish it with the then-times budget.
If that is correct, that means two thing. 1 BH could not keep their end of the bargain. 2 Ubisoft misjudged the budget.

I'll add a second reason: the studio itselft.
Why on earth they'd accept the offer and the conditions that Ubisoft'll put? If they investigate a bit and see the recent history between Ubisoft, HoM&M games and their dev studios, they'd realizade that something must be wrong, and what have in common H5 and H6? The producers -> Ubisoft.
So it won't be easy for Ubisoft to find a proper studio for any kind of expansion, imo.

It means first and foremost, that the responsible persons misjudged what they could accomplish with the budget at hand.

And because of that misjudgement, they allocated a budget that proved insufficient for the project.
In other words, they got their budget allocation wrong.
And what I was trying to say was that such a mistake is not enough ground to make them out like they are evil moneygrubber that make programmers dance for peanuts.

No, you think in the wrong direction.
The budget for a title like M&M:H6 will be quite clear, BEFORE you actually start planning. There is a history, and there is an expectation for projected sales, so the budget is the component that is fix. There simply is no possibility to assign a higher budget. Which means, it's not possible to say, I want this, this and this in the game, and therefore we need budget X.
Instead it will be, the budget will be around X - what is possible with that budget.
