Nice vid I would have been torn between pirate armour and bracers of the archmage but I'd pick rune of flame and codex of archmage from the rest. You were very right, you were better off playing defensively. Mass decay could have been countered to an extent by glories but an aoe spell was just the thing for second turn. Personally I'd have prefered fireball but then I'd be sure to also have fire magic III and immolation Maybe even inferno, that could have proven deadly for this formation. Brilliant protection for the breeders though I would have shot the angels, everything else will fall to spells but not these guys. Yet you left them exposed later on  Anyway that paladin was kind of a lost cause, passive bonuses alone cannot change the course of battle. Needed more warcries. And less luck, he boosted the gating gauge nicely.

There is mass decay in this game?!? 
Also, I have kinda gone off fire magic lately because of my reason for not having immolation, as well as because i'm finding curses and turn skips are more potent in these matches than damaging spells.
As for the angels, well thing is I thought the complete opposite, that the angels had so much defence that I would need spells to defeat them, and I wouldn't be able to defeat them with my spells if he used guardian angl. so my plan all along was to kill off all the other stacks 1 by 1 until only the angels were left so that he couldn't trigger much morale, then I just use my troops as meat shields whilst killing angels with spells and implosion so that they can't be resurrected, just incase he had regeneration or something

In what must be the shortest match in history involving both sanctuary and necro I have been defeated by nikolas. I am seriously annoyed by that since I feel I should have easily won that fight. Both of us decided we were going to dig in and play a long turtle game, only I know I would have won it in the end. However he destroyed my archers in the first turn. Instead of remaining calm I panicked and threw my entire army into the grinder. It was a completly impulsive and stupid decision. What came out was a blood-bath where there could only be one victor, the guy with the OP necromancy -_-

Turtle against necro? You're kidding, right? Necro's the turtle master. It also has the biggest ranged firepower of the game.

I'd say that nikolas is better than me. On to the battle..
I'd have totally leaped at his ghouls, sweet damage! Ah nevermind, guardian breastplate. GAH!
EDIT:
Having seen the battle I'd say you were right, you were better off in the back, especially being a magic hero. You could perhaps do some hit&run with kirin hailstorm aura to harass him, if you wanted close and personal you should at least have mass stoneskin and/or ice armour. Regardless nikolas planned it very well, dispel and disruption ray were what gave him the game. And your chain lightning actually turned out pretty decent.. Guess because he was blood. His necromancy filled fast because of pressed attack, it was the soulreaver effect. Killing units marked by the necro hero's attack generates additional necromancy points.

Yeah I know about the effect, he told me after the match. I just hadn't thoguht about it.
Still, I am incredibly aannoyed I didn't just stay back and play as if I was a blood hero. I had so much magic power that I could easily have outlasted him. Instead I turned it into a short blood bath

This was hardly a typical match, it takes a lot of experience to instantly adapt to such situations. You did fine all things considered, nikolas just had a few aces up his sleeve.
Let me know if I've forgotten to erase any matchups. I am hoping that this phase will be over by the weekend, so that we can move on to the semi-finals.

Not only is sanctuary kind of crap against undead, but that was a crappy field to play on as well. Beside, it's not a good idea to turtle against a mage undead since 2 of your 4 magic units needs to be up close and personal to dish some damage. You can just keep your Kensei behind to protect your shooters in case he summons some units or something and send the rest foward.

Not in this case, Nikolas had a death knight and he had already killed most of gameslayer's ranged units from the first turn.

Was he? haha. I wasnt paying too much attention to the vid.
Well then, if you re a tear mage against a might blood undead,I would dump points in magic defence anyways and let him shoot me with his fate weavers anyways and turtle with most units ( except kirins, kappa shoyas and mizu kami's unless he moves his units foward ).
Remember that might heroes have almost nothing to crowd control so wait with the kapa shoyas, leap at the end of the turn, back away next round.
Of course, all this is easy to say, sanctuary isalready a bad match up vs undead but nikolas' undead is pretty good as well.

Here's a thing for you: 
Moving forward could have been much better if not several stacks had to take a break before reaching Nikolas Darko.
Can you play against me tomorrow in the day? That would certainly cheer you up because I'm Blood Necro too. Your Stronghold can certainly make a nice charge for you.

Uh-oh, hi everybody! I think I've been abducted by aliens :3 Dunno what happened the last few days and I still need to play two more matches. Sorry
Also, I still need to watch gameslayer's videos and make fun of him! 
I can play today, but I will be home very late as well, so there probably won't be anybody to fight with. The next two days should be better though, so I expect to finish my matches in that time
EDIT: I might actually be able to finish one of my games today leaving me with only one contestant! Woot!
