My viking inspired faction, not to be ****ed with.
Arghan teleports around, rains destruction with Air Magic, cleaves heads with his axe and inspires his cities with Water Magic.

Upgrade Discounts for ELEMENTAL:FE-Legendary Heroes end November 15
"Stardock is retiring the early-adopter upgrade discounts for Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes and Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. Any owners of previous games in the Elemental or Sins of a Solar Empire franchises who want to take advantage of discounts they are currently eligible for will need to make those purchases by Friday, November 15."
Also:
The Dead World DLC for Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes is now available!
"Design your own undead army or lead the Empire of the Dead to dominion over the living
in the latest DLC for Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes.
The ancient sorcerer now known as Morrigan the Risen returns to leave another black stain on history as he leads the Empire of the Dead in his skeletal form. All-new mechanics change the way undead empires form and grow; they grow their population by spreading cemeteries and mausoleums rather than farming food like lesser races. Undead casters enjoy all-new spells, including the abilities to feed on the lifeforce of friendly units and even conjure a powerful but temporary army from nothing.
The Dead World DLC Features
A brand new faction: the Empire of the Dead, led by the nefarious sorcerer Morrigan the Risen. Undead ignore food, growing their population by building cemetaries and mausoleums and by reanimating slain foes
New spells for undead casters – summon a powerful but temporary army, feed on the lifeforce of friendly units in battle, and more
New undead empire fully implemented in faction/army creators – design your own skeletal and spectral troops
New custom map: The Dead World
New Hellknight monsters – powerful mounted undead knights with enchanted gear
New Risen Brood monsters – skeletal undead half-spider monstrosities"

The Undead are garbage. I would not bother with them. The male units are incredibly weak (on the contrary, female ghost units get +50% dodge). Growth is based on battle, which if you get a bad starting location, can really hamstring you early.

Gotta say this game got old quickly for me.
On paper the unit customization and faction creation is absolutely amazing for variety, but there is only so much you can actually do, and most custom factions just end up being slightly different versions of the existing ones.
I thought this would be quickly mitigated by how modular the game is, that the modders would introduce hundreds upon hundreds of custom abilities and unit types for you to mess with. Sadly, the modding community never really seemed to get going that well.
The AI is pretty much ****, which is so damn weird considering that Galactic Civilizations 2 has pretty much the best AI I've ever experienced in a game.
Lotsa potential and still pretty fun, but didn't manage to hold on to my interest.
