So, SimCity is going to be back in 2013. Anybody else tripping over this?
I don't like to think about how many hours I spend playing the original game some 20 years ago, but I'm totally going to get this!

Yeah I'm disappoint with the looks of the graphics. I guess with the zoom in options and such it's going to eat up a hell of a lot of system resources though, assuming you can smoothly go about the entire city that way.
Ah, good old original Sim City. Getting people to shut up about traffic jams was nigh impossible.

Watching that video has got me really pumped for it. I have always loved the SimCity series and this one looks great.

I remember playing Pharaoh many many years ago, specifically remember having a massive army and iching for a fight, but all I got is blatant messages "enemy is coming to attack you" two hours later still ****ing nothing.
Pretty much yes, there is no combat, but more management - i.e. you have to balance how you layout infrastructure, residential, commerce, industry, intertainment, police, schools, hospitals etc. - and balance the costs vs. tax income.

Business specialized cities sounds so epic. I only played the original SimCity and SimCity2000 and it was basically just building a city (which was still barrels of fun).
Now if only they would make a brand new Transport Tycoon ____________

or you can make it yourself. You could earn money aswell...
But my point is that there is no point in making a game that hardly anyone cared about.
Seriously, transport tycoon was the most boring game I have ever heard about that goes on the line of "City building".
For a game, it had too much "Serious" in it but then, I actually dislike all Sim and city building games.
I started playing the original SimCity in MS Dos in 1989 on a 10 inch black and green computer screen. Damn, those were the days.

Sim City 2000 under OS 9. I remember showing it to a friend and Ive cheched how he was doing and his progress was too damn slow. Then I realized, instead of dragging them he was building the roads by clicking square by square!
TotalBiscuit warned the players... the servers are packed as **** and the always-online DRM means you probably won't be able to play without waiting in qeue for hours.
Sit tight, wait, let the devs sort out their ****, then buy, maybe.
