I guess I'll have to start at the late 70s.
Does anyone remember Ultra-Man and Spectreman? How about Space Giants? Man, those monsters gave me nightmares for years.
Speaking of cartoons, Battle of the Planets was awesome. Some more of my personal favs were Orbots, Galaxy Rangers, Laff-alympics, Thundar the Barbarian, and a helluva lot more. I even watched Jem.
Tranzor Z was infinitely superior to Voltron.
I hated the good guys on G.I. Joe and Transformers. Quick Kick should have gotten his butt kicked by Stormshadow(it happened in the comics). I'll match my Stunticons against the aerialbots any day. The Predacons were gods and my prize possession was Trypticon.
Duke should've died when Serpentor stuck him.
My family had a set of Encounter Bats.
I never had a coonskin cap or wore my suspenders low.
Music...hello technopop! Someone mentioned Depeche. What about Erasure, XTC, Book of Love, New Order, Anything Box, Nitzer Ebb?
The first time I ever danced with a girl was at my 8th grade dance. It was "Careless Whisper" by Wham.
"Dear Mr. Jesus" is the most heartbreaking song I've ever heard.
Ding Dong Ditch was the height of my preadolescent delinquancy.
Anyone else play Lazer Tag in a forest at night?
Capture the flag almost never had a winner.
I almost never got picked for 7-up.
I graduated from CandyLand and Chutes & Ladders to Dark Tower, Stratego, and Stop! Thief during this time.
Endless hours were spent during the summer playing pinners(aka ledge), Mother May I, and Ghost in the Graveyard.
I vowed never to use drugs.
Tried a mohawk for awhile but it didn't fit.
I still have the original Boba Fett.
Computer? We had a Ti/99 4a. It didn't have a disk drive. It had a tape recorder.
Stretch Armstrong's 'blood' was the coolest.
My mom had a crush on Avon from Blake's 7.
Late Sunday night's lineup was Monty Python, The Two Ronnies, Dave Allen at Large, and finally Dr. Who.
More later...

Hong Kong Fui and Inspector Gadget are quite similar (two clumsy idiots who think they save everybody while somebody else does the dirty work). I prefer HKF though. IG was a bit boring.
I didn't care about the original Space Ghost, but Space Ghost - Cost to Cost rocks!

I remember upgrading to a C-64 and later wishing I could afford an Amiga. Didn't watch TV hardly at all, but I still think the original transformers are the best. Actually I must have missed a lot that decade, because I don't really remember much of these things. Maybe I spent too much time recording songs onto tape from my boom-box?
I still have a box full of transformers at my mothers house, the kids love to play with them when we visit.
Anyhow, it has been nice to get filled in on what I missed, even though it seems the 80's were pretty boring.
My question is, where are all those things we were supposed to have by the year 2000? Late 70's and early 80's was lots of talk about that stuff, but so much of it never happened...

I had an early start today and yesterday, so I turned on the TV... the first programme was.. TRAPDOOR!! Wow!!
But the second programme was the ultimate horror series.. THE SMURFS!! They are REVIVING the SMURFS!! Arrrggghhhh!!
The grainy animation, the high-pitched voices.... 80's cartoons rock!!
