Hope "Heroes VI" will get one more expansion featuring the Academy faction. There are several very promising Academy artworks revealed in "The Ashan Compendium". But this one makes me thinking that all Academy artworks had been made by "3Mages" before this faction was removed from the content list of "Heroes VI" as its style is quite similar to the previous one.

Actually, I hope that they will add all the mentioned factions. Whether that's in the second expansion, or spread over more expansions, I don't mind.

Yes please, all three factions!
Especially academy and then sylvan but it would be interesting to see how they would make the dwarves. Graphics, game play and story are good foundations for the coming year(s). Adding a faction or two per expansion as well as some tweaks like sim. turns, perhaps map editor, skills could work fine. But that's unlikely since there is no sylvan yet.

We don't have to ask IS there going to be an expansion, because it will be. This seems to be Ubisofts' strategy- make Heroes with a few factions and cash in with expansions.

even though i really doubt my 2d favourite faction (Sylvan) will ever make it for HoMM6

I am afraid at this point that H6 will be outdated before they make more expansions. H6 is not exactly new anymore and it took a while for the first REAL expansion to come out. At this rate it is going to take 3 years a best to make all factions.

If there will be a second expansion, which I believe will depend on the sale of the first, let it end with a bang. And let them make a start on a new cycle.

I could see a potential H7 taking place in the first eclipse, with Sar-Elam and all that. I would also like to see the Sahaar orcs some time.

I would really like to know if they will continue the Might & Magic Heroes franchise after H6... so if there are any plans and potential for H7, but I don't think they would give out such information for the moment being.

The desert orcs and Shanriya nagas are an intriguing possibility. The latter are ice-themed Tibetan nagas that appeared in duel of champions, I'd love a faction set on snow terrain

I guess a second expansion would depend of how Shades of Darkness sells - if it's sells well, we'd probably have another expansion. If not, they'd move to HVII I think...
The best news we could have'd be starting to make HVII with a good studio and good plans, having the VIPs a higher role over the design so the community could be heard.

If it's good, something like "an outdated game" is not an issue. It's not hard to find long running games which are still played and expanded by the developers (or fans) years after their release. Games like World of Warcraft or Kings Bounty Legend are still popular, and are having new expansion packs released to this day (Mists of Pandaria or Warriors of the North were released not so long ago). And you cannot deny that those are "outdated" games in terms or graphics for instance. Heck, look at Heroes III! How archaic is that! (But still it's the pinnacle of pc turn based gaming imo: simple yet deep, with unforgetable and charming artistic value)
If Heroes VI was made into such a game, it could run for years. It's up to Ubisoft how this game will be handled...

regarding expansion
i am pretty sure its going to be Academy!
too many hints leading to that..
as far as i know it was even planned to have them in HoMM6Vanila
For Fortress i have doubts, because not many people like them,
as they judge from HoMM5 Fortress perspection
While we may see dwarfs in Duel of Champions for example
Ubi will make an effort to make them more "likable"
or we will just see Valkyrie as a neutral in expansion and thats it
As for my beloved evles!
I am sure we wont see them.
there is not even one artwork of Sylvan faction,
and not even a one hint for their presence in HoMM6
In addition the expansion which supposingly should be about Elves vs Dark Elves
(fits perfectly into timeline story)
there are not going to be any wood elves, and the story will be about something else
so maximum what we can expect is just reference to Sylvan faction and thats it..
its a pity though..
As for new faction!
there is 0% chance!
can bet money on that
