I didn't know if that's a right place to post this kind of stuff... (Forge-related)
...But I decided to try anyway.
I've been a very big fan of HoMM3 around 8 years ago (still a good time after it actually came out, but I was, like, 3 when it first was released).
And now I rediscovered it, and found that sad fact about the scrapped town of Forge, replaced with bad Conflux instead.
Unfinished fan creations aside, there goes yet another one suggestion for it.
Implying that:
a. anybody cares
b. anyone who cares actually would feel like doing it (I don't it to be someone's main project or anything)
c. this actually goes in here instead of WoG (or any other subforum)
So while most (ie. 2) other Forge projects out there (which to my knowledge are both dead atm) try to recreate the Forge as-was present by NWC, I had a different idea of taking the basic concept and recreating it from scratch.
What it means that you still get the Forge town that incorporates SF-themed units and general flavor of that, but brings in completely different units (heroes aside).
Here's a very vague comparison of original Forge units and new Forge units (subject to change, feel free to suggest)
Grunts & Foot Soldiers - ranged-attacking goblins.
Cyborgs & Droids melee-attacking...well, cyborgs and droids. Human-based.
Cyber-Dead & Cyber-Zombies - melee-attacking undead with chainsaws.
Steel Gargoyles & Chrome Gargoyles - melee-attacking robotic gargoyles.
Pyros & Pyromaniacs - kind of self-explanatory.
Sentries and Laser Eyes - beholders with wires (rather than...how do you even call that?) and some "brainpower-amplifying" machinery attacked to the bottom of their head/brain/whatever. Ranged-attacking.
Jump Soldiers & Jump Troopers - minotaurs with jetpacks and claws. Melee-attacking.
Ironbirds & Blackhawks - roc-esque melee-attacking flying units. Costs precious resources.
Tanks & Heavy Tanks - Naga-tanks with melee attacks.
Walkers & Heavy Walkers - mechas. Nuff said. Ranged capabilities. Costs precious resources.
Juggernauts & Dreadnoughts - purely mechanical, exact design unknown (to me at least).
Mecha Dragons & Power Dragons - robotic dragons with jet engines in place of wings, alongside other features. Costs precious resources.
Those may not be the best ideas out there, they're completely unrelated to the story, gameplay or lore of any other MM-related game, but hey...
I am just a player, but I seriously lack those tough-as-nails killing machines (double pun intended, fully).
Could anyone, like, EVER, take at least a look if that would be possible to make? (I could do some, like, concept arts, but note that I am kind of bad at it, so for now you've got what you've got).
