ICTC VII - Pyre. (Unofficial entry)
With Lizard's ok I am borrowing his setup. With my town..the town of fire..called Pyre. This is an unofficial entry, since I am mentoring the ICTC as a Moderator.
Associated c olors: Orange and Fire Red
Worship: Fire, the sun, and spirits of the desert.
Area : Any desert.
Capital city:None they are nomads always on the move.
Motto: "Burn them all"
Key symbols:The Phoenix.
Terrain: Desert and any hot/arid terrain.
General Description
The warriors are the most honored in this society. The strong rule the weak, and any sign of weakness is not tolerated. They have ritual sacrifices quite often, to placate the burning sun, for victory, and any other reason they can come up with. Their warriors wear fearsome visages, often with the skulls of their victims as masks or bones, teeth, or ears as necklaces. The more body parts of their enemies they wear, the more honored and feared the warrior. The chief is the greatest warrior of the tribe, and is constantly having to prove his strength against those who would challenge for rulership. These are always battles to the death.
Pyre - The Burning Lands.
As nomads they live in the desert, moving from place to place endlessly. Any person they happen across will be challenged, and if they are not strong enough either sacrificed or made a slave. Their world is a harsh one, and they are harsher still. The dry and cracked land is a death sentence to most, but they thrive in this environment. It is little wonder they worship fire, the sun, and the spirits, for these things control their very lives.
Architecture
They have no permanent homes, living mostly in tents or crude mud dwellings that are easy to tear down and put up again.
Core Units -
Kikra (in their language means Coyote)- They have a pack mentality, but are somewhat cowardly. They do not retaliate against attacks.
Ability - Flanking - If any friendly unit hits a enemy that is adjacent to the Coyote the Coyote get an attack on that unit that has no retaliation (even if the enemy unit has unlimited retaliation)
SepKikra (in their language it means 'Possessed Coyote')-
Abilities - Flanking, Rabid Attack - These creatures attack twice except when doing a Flanking attack.
Pyrelisk - (Deals might fire damage, not increased by fire magic power) These creatures are hardy and have a good attack, they also are immune to any fire spell or ability.
Pyrolisk
Abilities - Flame Shield - unit that attacks the pyrolisk takes 10% of the damage they do to the Pyrolisk unless immune to fire. Limited Range - Pyrolisk can launch a fire attack but it only travels 2 squares. Immune to fire.
Ravenos (Means Raven)
Abilities - Flying, Scavenger - Ravenous can devour the bodies of allies or enemies to regenerate.
Sepravenos (Means 'Possessed Raven')-
Abilities - Flying, Scavenger. Wingstorm (2x per combat)- Does normal combat damage and blinds target reducing their attack by 25%.
Elite Units
Themula (Means 'Proud warrior') - Big, Strong, fast.
Huakula (Means 'Honored Warrior') - Bigger, Stronger, Faster. Resistant to fire. Battle Hunger - Every time they attack a unit they get a temporary +1 to attack and defense. Every time they kill a stack, they get a +1 to speed, +1 to attack, and +1 to defense that lasts the entire battle.
Ember Spirit (Deals magic fire damage, increased by fire spell power) (Looks like a female shaped fire elemental)
Abilities
Immune to fire, fire shield, Ranged. No melee penalty.
Burning Spirit (a brighter colored Ember Spirit)
Abilities
Immune to fire, fire shield, Ranged. No melee penalty. Immolate. Any stack hit by a Burning spirit that does not have immunity to fire burns for 2 rounds (25% of original damage done each round for two rounds.
All the pictures I found of the two above was definitely not suited for a pg-13 forum
Champion Unit
Phoenix - All Phoenix and upgrade deals fire damage, increased by fire spell power.
Abilities
Immune to fire, flying, rebirth, Fire Shield
Hauk Phoenix (Honored Phoenix) -
Abilities
Immune to fire, flying, rebirth, Fire Shield. Touch of life. Any friendly unit that is adjacent has a resurrect spell cast on them when the Hauk Phoenix uses its rebirth ability.
Heroes
Firewalker - Might. Tear 1 Firedancer, Tear 2 Firemaster. Blood 1 - Pyros, Blood 2 - Firestarter
Firecaller - Magic Tear 1 - Pyre Priest, Tear 2 Zealot. Blood 1 - Desertwalker. Blood 2 - Pyrestarter
Tears - Oasis (level 1 or 250 tear points) - Reduces enemies spell power and might attack power by 3 for 3 turns..automatically casts once combat starts. Flames of the phoenix (level 2/1000 tear points) - Acts as a mass heal, triggered, 1x combat AND gives each stack an extra retaliation for the round it is triggered.
Blood - Firestorm - triggered 1x combat, as spell of same name. Blaze - All enemies get marked where fire damage does extra damage, and all units do extra fire based damage on the turn this is triggered.
Racial Gage - Gage is filled by fire damage being dealt to friendly or enemy creatures.
Racial Ability
Burning Fury.
Basic - For every 25% of health a stack loses that stack gets +1 to initiative.
Advance Basic + Each stack starts the combat with a +2 to speed.
Master Advance + All stacks move up one spot on who acts first, second, etc at the beginning of combat. If they have a stack that would act first..that stack ALSO acts last in the first round of combat (ie they get two moves/attacks/etc..but only on the first round of combat).

Updated creatures..need some suggestions for an ability (read the abilities of the creatures..you will understand). Racial is going to have something to do with fire lol. The theme of this town is fire. However, they do not take additional damage from cold spells.

Why not call the ability "A Cloud of Murder?" For both the added cheesiness factor and the fact that Ravens are so often associated with death.

Hmm I didn't go with that, but it did give me an idea. Wing storm. Slightly going to change it to be useable only so many times a fight, but do normal combat damage as well when used. Also changing some names of the creatures to shorten them.

I was thinking of making the special something like a rain of arrows at the beginning of combat (flame arrows)..still may change it before the contest ends. Now I just need a magic and might hero name Then some lore/background.

I find your choice of coyote, salamander and raven absolutely boring.
I like their abilities though, they seem like useful units. It's just that I can't really see the fear in getting attacked by raven or coyote's.
You also have too many fire immune's, even though I get it with your fire specialty and all, there's still too many. It WILL break the game. Perhaps remove from the tanky warriors?

Well I can see the issues with the creatures, Going with a fire/desert theme and I can certainly come up with a bit more interesting creatures. Right now that is what I got to work with however.
I did take the immune to fire from the creatures it didn't make sense for. The Coyote and the Raven. Put resist to the warriors.
As for the rest, they are creatures OF fire. How in the heck can more fire hurt fire?

Indeed. But having half of your team immune to fireballs/inferno/armageddon is pretty much GG.

Not really. I wouldn't see an issue (necessarily) if all of them were fire immune.
edit: Well I guess it depends what the format is. In H6 it could be lame since you have to take spells as skills, so it's a major pain in the ass to take spells from multiple elements. In any other Heroes game it's your own dumb fault if you're a one-trick-pony that can only shoot fireballs for offensive spells.
You really should try to add more mystical creatures to the line up though. In my books it's okay to put a natural animal in the line-up (the coyote seems kind of cool) but 3 is overkill.

It's technically only two natural ones, because a normal salamander is about a foot long at most. However, easy way to change that part of it. Need to come up with a name that goes with pyrolisk. *thinks*
Edit : Hmm is it too cheesy tho....

Had a friend (Who prefers to go by the name Zappit) give me a pg-13 female fire elemental picture. A little cheery and friendly, but hey free is free . It is also well done.
Holy cow, I might actually finish this town. It is one of the seven signs of the apocalypse! Everybody..run for your lives!!!!
