Dead Space 3
Finished Dead Space 3 (single player) on normal. I found it quite enjoyable. It has less "horror" than Dead Space 2 but there is still plenty of roaming through dark corridors with necromorphs bursting through walls in front of you and creatures crawling out of vents behind you when you least expect it. While you do fight some humans (unitologists) in DS3 the vast majority of the fighting is against necromorphs.
DS3 has weapon crafting in it. You can customize quite a wide array of weapons, lending to replayability as different weapon combos can require different tactics. I chose to use a shotgun/grenade launcher (mine had 4 incendiary grenade capacity/10 shotgun shell capacity) combo for this play through. I mainly used the shotgun and used grenades when being faced with hordes of smaller fast creatures that threaten to overwhelm you with sheer numbers.
There are also several game modes and difficulties. Off the top of my head the game modes are the standard one in which you can customize your weapons, a "classic" mode in which you can only craft the "traditional" dead space weapons, a survivalist mode in which no ammo or health packs drop (you have to craft everything) and a new game+ mode where you keep all your stuff when you start another play though. Oh, and there is a coop mode where one person plays Isaac and one plays Carver. I'm not sure what differences there may between the two, as in single player Carver is in some cut scenes but does not ever actually fight with Isaac.
I enjoyed the story though this time around you don't have the whole Isaac is on the verge of insanity feel to it.
The one part of the game I think was designed a little poorly was rappelling up cliffs as sometimes the shift key would not result in a jump as it was supposed to. That resulted in a couple of climbs being a bit frustrating but I made it through them and that was a small part of the game.
Quite pleasantly I encountered no bugs (other than possibly the issue with rappelling up cliffs.) Rather refreshing considering the buggy state most games seem to be released in these days. All, in all, quite an enjoyable and replayable game. I'd recommend Dead Space 3 highly to fans of the series or to shooter fans in general.
