Think about it. What does playing hard to get entail? Things like not calling/texting her back as soon as you reasonably can (just because you want to give her some sort of incorrect image), giving her the impression that you're not really interested (even though you are), etc. Essentially, it's a lie. And if she becomes attracted to you when you're acting disinterested in her, and she isn't interested in you otherwise, what does that say about her? Not good things. So it's irrelevant if playing hard to get is attractive, because you don't want it to be successful even if it can be.

@Minion: well yeah, cuz the times when I just don't care is when women seemingly flock to me. It's the carefree attitude I guess.
I've also tried faking it, and I'm simply not skilled enough at hiding my feelings  I know guys who are though. It's a power game, push/pull effect and everything, tricks to seem mysterious and sexy and whatever.
However, while it's attractive, I agree with Mvass that if you're looking for something serious, faking an image probably ain't a good idea.
Also I feel this is gonna turn into a pillar theory thread soon.

Since you are a man, it only works if the other side has an affection towards you, i.e. she's already interested in your looks or whatever.
For women that aren't already interested, it means squat if you're hard to get or not.
"playing hard to get" is very overrated when it comes to men. Women, on the other hand, tend to use it quite well.
