Well, usually they don't corrupt squares, but I noticed in some games that this may happen rarely, due to map size problems, number of objects and maybe some other parameters I have no idea about.
Shrines are safe to use, but is true that I never tried like you, to get past some monster using 5-6 shrines removal. Map internal memory may get over flowed at some point if we do so. This is untested area for everyone.

Well, instead of waiting for hours, open the map in editor, enable passability mask then look what you have missed. It's a 252/252 map so is easy to get lost.
There may be several options after Zydar, the most obvious is: flag the blue tent south from his town, then open the blue guard, which is a few hexes south from where you meet mysticism/logistic masters (water node). There is a narrow passage allowing water walk. If extreme case of confusion, then upload your save at wikisend.com and I will help.

Thank you for response, i was able to find it, i missed one of dark blue borded gates, thought i have no way to get there... Now on my way to find Lucius .

How am I supposed to survive the first swordsman battle with all 4 ADs when the swordsmen are all Ace levels and I can't upgrade my ADs. I always lose 1 :s
Nevermind - managed to beat it with hit n run
Very unforgiving map, gets really difficult right from the get go. 1 wrong move/skill and Pasis catches you xD

Unbelievable map, unbeliavable work, unbelievable creation. I ..uh, don't have words. It's like a game on its own, truly a superb piece of work. Finished it month 9 week 2 day 5 as a Master of Elements, but going for a second playthrough and I know what to do better this time.
You are a god among men, Salamandre - your creation is simply astonishing.
Thanks a million times for the amazing work you've done
I'm gonna try it in HELL mode now!

Thanks. I re-played it once since the summer holidays hit in, then did some little changes for the best, I hope.
All mods like "upgrade all", HSM, "display retaliations", "rename town", "call to arms" are now embedded to TEW IV main script, Arena got a new outfit, and master of wealth a little bonus in treasure hunters area. After Chaomen reports, spoils of war were fixed for about 99% of battles. Of course, Hell mods still has a lot of bonuses and surprises, because is harder.

My last game as Master of Wealth on Hell mode. 43 inferno towns, 520 mithril income, +7000 demons each week.

When activating HMS improved mod with this new TEW4, every time I re run the game I have a bunch of messages of Duplicate buttons popping up like so:

Yes, read previous post. As TEW 4 structure prohibits any usage of external mods, now it has all useful mods inside. No need to activate external HMS anymore. Only TEW4, WoG and optional animation booster, as turbo or fast animation mod. All others must be disabled.

It can't solve by itself. You must deactivate all mods I named, or you will get duplicate commands into game.

I told you that's what I did, the problem persisted in both cases, but then I rebooted pc and reinstalled again and it worked, somehow.
Anyway, got Pasis problems.
If I don't leave a Devil on the island to block landing, then Pasis continues as he is supposed to.
When I do leave a devil to block, then Pasis gets stuck and doesn't move at all, the game message tells me that I have until the end of month 2 or something to prepare for him, but he won't budge. Nothing gamebreaking really, but I need that artifact and I don't want to wogfrodo him when he attacks me month 1 week 2 or something.
He also gets stuck when I destroy the boat near the keymaster's tent

Don't worry, Pasis issue has been solved. When you reach second inferno town, he will be teleported to closed area so you can attack him when you want.
Also, if you change mods configuration but reload previous save, don't forget to press F12 to refresh scripts. Not need to reinstall, just F12.

Can anybody give me any tips on how to actually start the game? It seems unplayable, but seeing how some people here say they have managed to finish it, perhaps I am doing something wrong lol.
First of all, it is virtually impossible to flee the guy chasing you at the very begging of the game. The only way to 'stuck' him is to start as the Master of Elements and cast the shrine of teleportation right before stepping on the boat. That will cause him to stuck at the witch house.
But does that mean that the only way to start the game is to play with the with the element faction?
Next, when I arrive on the island to ask for the red gate pass and leave a devil there so as to block the entrance, I move through the red gate and there are a bunch of wraiths who I CANNOT defeat to proceed further. How to do it? I cannot kill them with just 2 archdevils left on my side.
Am I doing anything wrong?

Yes, everything.
First, pick logistics after Swordsmen fight. Second, you are not supposed to fight Wraiths but just to open quest guard.

I took logistics after swordsment, it does not help much, I still fail to get away, once I reach the boat the chaser manages to reach me as well.
I cannot go through the quest gate as it asks for the third artifact, the hat. Where do I get it? I guess the only way is to kill the wraiths.

Just before you get into the water? Options are pretty limited at this point, so it's hard to miss the Hat.
No wonder that Pasis gets you if you board a ship without Hat.

Ohh the hat is the one near the boat past the gate? Well the gate master asks for 2 devils in order to pass me though it is clear that I cannot have that many at this point of the game because after the fight with swordsment two devils are gone. Ohh wait, there is just ONE ressurection spell for me to use, which will cost me 20 mana - all I have. Let's see.

How am I supposed to give him 4 devils (in fact it is not possible to win the swordsmen fight with all 4 devils left) if that would mean I'd have to give him my entire army which is also impossible? WTF

Well yes, the first fight requires some experience with the game. Not very hard, but not too easy neither.
Of course, all devils must remain alive, if you can't manage that fight, the rest of the map will look UFO to you.
