Noob question - I think I've messed something up during installation. Commodus can learn only 8 skills and mysticism or first aid are still available on levelups. I've installed TEW on clean ERA, later installed also minor mods like New Object (required, AFAIK) and FindMe. Also wogified map on start, of course. What have I done wrong?

Other mods will not work if loaded with tew4 anyway. In mod manager, check plugins then enable the one saying no secondary skills limits, thats all. Every hero will be able to learn 27 skills (except necro obviously).

Also, I can't open map in editor - "invalid or corrupt map file".

Well, there is no reason it does not open. Mod manager, click on editor, browse mods, open tew 4/maps then you are.

Sal, I have uploaded a save. I couldn't find the path after Alkin. But I found an old thread you mentioned go south and pass the waterhole.
When I come to the chest with knowledge tower, I can not walk through. Though from the map editor, it seems passable. Could you have a look of my save if I am doing right?

No need to look. From that spot, cast summon boat, pick the chests blocking the way, return to same spot, scuttle boat, now path is free for water walk.
Rion is 74th level, you should visit the time thing object near home, because at next level up, your game may break.

What should be my priority - upgrading units with mithril or converting towns? Right now it's M6W4D7, I've just beat Daremyth but I'm considering restart, I think that I'm too slow. Also, Xeron is coming, I'm afraid, that his HB will beat the hell ( ) out of my HB. (yes, I play MoD, I'm a filthy casual)

I never finished a Master of Devils Game.
My approach on this game was to prioritize:
getting fast 6-7 Inferno towns, 8th and 9th Inferno I converted after mid game
getting the mandatory abilities (attack return, 3rd Immunity, Fire Immunity (these 3 by the time I reach Jaegar) clone and reduced defense are very powerful also. you will also need additional ressurections on efreets
afterwards maximize devils dmg.
I finnished 3 times as MoSpeed and twice as MoWealth

Narsil, when I made master of devils, it was to offer an easy version, but finally the other races were so much more interesting that they got endless bonuses and polishing while mod was almost never cared about. So you are missing the real fun when you play mod, is not the easiest and not the most fun, by far.
In fact, me neither ever finished master of devils game.

OK, so I grew a pair and started again as MoW. Everything went fine until Gerwulf - it's 3/4/4, I have 150 archs ( with fear, fearless, immunity 1-3, fire immunity and reduce enemy defence), but even if I get morale and destroy most of his sharps on first turn, he decimates my troops with implosion. Any hints for n00b, who just started to play serious?
EDIT: I did it... waited another week, got more AD, but still it was mostly luck; got morale and killed his sharps on first turn. Now I'm preparing for Ajit, but it's already fourth month... isn't it too slow? I know, that good players can finish map in six months. Some general tips still would be appreciated.

I usually kill Gerwulf with less than 60 archs. Are you sure you use the right spells? Do you cast (1) forgetfulness, (2) air shield, 3 (bless) on archies? Did you upgrade enough your resurrection? Got twice caves of gods?
For time, it depends on difficulty. Below hell (7th) you can take your time, there are little to no changes in AI growth. For 7th difficulty you must finish the map in less than 7 months or it will get very very difficult. So for hell I would say Gerwulf 2.4.7 the latest, before bonuses kick in.

version 4.1 released. Wake of gods link, will edit first page link too when I contact a moderator.
Changes:
*fixed arena coordinates
*Master of devil upgrades prices fixed
*removed all additional mods and plugins erm codes. Now plugins are integrated to TEW4 folder so you don't have to check what is up or not. Also the list of compatible mods is specified in readme.txt, just install them for a better experience, TEW4 code will activate them automatically.
*removed market of time, there is no longer use from it
*Faction selection menu now displays full info on each race.
