Custom Hero portraits
Hey!
I'm really dying to know if I can somehow put in my own images from my computer or something to make my own hero portraits? Would be freaking awesome! (In Heroes of Might and Magic VI)

Yes, you can do it.
Portraits are stored in \SourceAssets\Textures\General\Icons\Unitcard inside te .ork files. They are usual .png with transparency

I see, thanks alot. Where can I find SourceAssets? Can't seem to locate it under Program(x86)/Ubisoft/UbisoftGameLauncher. :S

Himiko's portrait is available in the altar of wishes (gold rank), but you can only use it if you can create custom heroes ... which is not the case since patch 1.8

Let's post a little guide about portraits changing...
There are tools in modding tread named orc2zip and zip2orc.
Inside game folder you can find a lot of numbered .orc files.
Unpack them with orc2zip,
find and change files you need (let it be Raelag's portrait),
zip2orc your edited zip archive
and replace your old .orc file with new one.
Let's see this ingame
Raelag gets his HOMM5 portrait.
Note that this changes apply locally. Your multiplayer opponents will not see them.

ok ! thanks ! One last question though. Can I swap Himiko portrait with that of Kalindra`s so that in custom hero creation screen I can choose Himiko as a portrait and select whatever specialization?

Yes, but only for you. Other players will see default portrait.

There are two ways. First - to switch models (but this affects all heroes of this town with same gender) and it is not good. There should be other way. Somewhere in game files exist file(s) describing hero presets (like model and icon used) but i can't figure out, where it is. I need this file too so if anybody can help - let's find it.

Cool it worked. Now I can play with any portrait I unlocked !  And those I didn`t unlock too 
EDIT: What about modding Belket`s specialization to +2 Magic Power bonus

As i know this info is stored in game.orc file, but 1) there is no editor for new version of this file 2) while this file is modified Conflux will not be able to connect with server, so dynasty weapons and online saves will not work.
