How would NWC's HoMM5 look like?
Looking at this kinda makes me sad...
MAYBE current Heroes V is better.
MAYBE it would have less of "Heroes" in it.
But what IF 3DO did not go bankrupt (after such great series like HoMM 1-3 I'm under impression they somehow went bankrupt after all) and their vision of Heroes of Might and Magic V came to be?
(and holy snow, H3-style Fortress again? GODDAMNIT, I WANT IT SO MUCH!)
I wish Tracy Iwata still had those sexy renders, because boy what would we not do with them...

I don't know, I mean the buildings look good but to my mind there's something off about most of the creatures.

So they did in H4 (Venom Spawn, anyone?).

Venom Spawn wasn't that bad. None of the H4 designs were particularly bad (though the art style was). The naming, though, really needed work. Frenzied Gnasher? Evil Sorceress? Megadragon?

To me, the art looks very, maybe too HoMM IV-ish...

Yeah, I'm happy about H5 TotE when I see that. What's more interesting is what Nival's H6 would have been like... I've heard they'd have made huge changes.

I retain that the art style of H4 was good, creatures just weren't supposed to be viewed up-close.
Having said that, I can't say any of those (NWC) creatures were to my liking.
I don't know what they were trying to pull off with the names though,
maybe they sought a return to the M&M 3-5 craziness?
It's not like Ubi is any better in that department; about half of the creatures in H5-6's names are descriptions of what they do.
I'd take a Venom Spawn over a Mother Breeder (Breeder Mother?) any day.

I couldn't agree more. To me HoMMV TotE had much better looking creatures than HoMMIV. I hate looking at all Inferno creatures in HommIV, except Pit Fiends. As far as NWC's HoMMV is concerned, it looks ok, but there are some creatures that a little bit strange for me: Catelf, Lionmen and Vampire. But including Lizard-faction was nice, I really wish that they were introduced in Ashan.

The closest we've got are the Nagas.
And given that Ubi said they won't want any more factions in Ashan, I doubt we're going to get them.
UNLESS, surprise!, Axeoth 2.0

hi guys first of all my English is F***d up hope u understand me
i will tell u what i think about Heroes from my experience so far ....
i'm new player i have only 1 year of game play but 1 year full time.
i'v got hooked so bad that i don't play anything else now but heroes 3
Specially me i'm 25 years old and i'm a retro gamer i like to play old games because of the less graphics and details and more of the game strategy simplicity and fun ..I have a powerful laptop Dell i7 and i play 8-16 bit games ARCADE , SEGA , and such .... As the way i see heroes ....
Is that the 2D games is more of a fantasy of the player and how u imagine it like reading a book.
Then the graphics of the new generation 3D games is so full of details that u just don't concentrate on the scenario which is less hard and more of a EYE CANDY type ...
As for the Jon Van Caneghem and New World Computing. (RESPECT TO MAX)
I fell sorry for the fact that they stop the greatest game series ever
the torrents and pirate side eat the bread of the company's now a days nobody support everybody downloads
Me i support everything i play and i don't feel bad about spending money on games which i love ..but can be downloaded for FREE i just respect the creators and i support them..... SAD VERY SAD the new Heroes is nothing like the mighty HOMM 3-2-1 .... postscript NEW GAMES SUXZZ HARD
