Time to level up

There's something that's been on my mind for a long a while now. Over the years I've spent in the Glade I've tried myself in various styles of RPs, using various types of characters, but there's one thing I never really tried. I never tried to be a proper GM. Never thought I have what it takes either. Still don't actually. But I'm anxious enough to try now. So I need guinea pigs volunteers. Mind you, it will probably suck.

Anyway, I'm making this thread for two purposes:
A) See who's interested.
B) Decide what world I'll be GMing (if any).

As you may have noticed, I'm not too confident about my GM skills, so I won't be making up a world of my own for my first RP. I'll use an existing one. I don't much care which, as long as I know it well enough to control it. Two ideas I had in mind myself are One Piece and Discworld. Both are good and bad. One Piece I know like the back of my hand and even helped GM the previous One Piece RP. What's more the storyline there is fairly simple - just sail around having adventures. Discworld, on the other hand, is much more suited for most RPers here as it is the definition of a generic fantasy world. The problem with it, is I'm afraid I won't do any kind of justice to Terry Pratchett. But, as I've said, the point here is for me to try my hand at GMing, so any world I'm familiar with will be fine.

Anyway, to cut the long story short here's what I need. Anyone who's willing to try to RP under my command will post here his willingness and his preferred world(s). Again, you don't have to choose from the two I mentioned.

Thank you for listening.

I express my willingness and HOPE that there are enough of us who have read Sir Pratchet to have idea what Geny talks about.
Well,I realize that Death comes very fast in the Discworld, but running seems efficient in many situations.

I have to admit that I am familiar with neither setting. But since I have RPG'ed little for a long time, I would be willing to go along for the ride. And I am certain that people will give me a hand here and there if I do things wrong. (I know I was when I was familiar with the setting)

Discworld+Geny=WIN. Unfortunately, I still suck at forum-RPing, and IDK if I'll be able to keep it up once it kicks off. At the very least, I'll be reading this with great interest.

@war-overlord
Since no one suggested any setting yet, you're more than free to do it yourself. I'm not as well-versed as some others, but I still know a thing or two and maybe you can think of something better than the two listed above.

How 'bout that FF1 RP again?
Kidding.

Well, I guess I'll vote for One Piece RP (even though I'm not familiar with it), just because I've watched an episode of it a long time ago.

Well, I've always said that it was a crying shame that the Ares Incident came to an end. So if there was to be a Warhammer 40k rpg I would praise the Emperor. Or Warhammer fantasy.
But it seems there are more people who want a Diskworld rpg.

I guess I have enough test subjects to try a Discworld RP. I'll be making the OOC sometime later today.

Oh, and naturally no one has to worry about not knowing the world. I'll explain what I can and Discworld has enough room for imagination to fill in the things I can't.

Don't worry about that - just sprinkle your story with some appropriately absurd characters and stuff and the humour will come.

If you are looking for some inspiration, here are some classic D&D threads that some people did back in the day. One of them is mine. And another was made by someone who is banned ironically.

The Saga of Glade River Valley

Trials: Lords of Tanaran

From what I've found, players like the stats. However as a GM is a pain in the ass to keep track of everything. It's usually worth it though.

Sooo, apparently we made to page 5. Wasn't sure something I'd make will get past page 2, but here we are.

Anyway, I think this is as good a time as any to ask for some feedback. How am I doing so far as a GM and what would you want me to do differently?

I personally don't like the idea of having a monkey for the role of the librarian and the general lack of hot girls.
The story is pretty slow at this point, so if I were you, I'd dump the whole "lost book" plot and get to the really juicy stuff!

You haven't actually read any Discworld books, I take it.

The Librarian being an orangutan is canon.
