Patch 2.1.1 has been released
I started STEAM and it downloaded a small patch. Lo and behold.

Please ensure you are on 2.1.0 before patching, Steam will auto patch.
o The mana cost of spells is increased if the game is loaded while a Dynasty Weapon that gives mana cost reduction is equipped.
o Shades Of Darkness Necro Campaign: The game crashes after fighting a stack of skeletons located in the area where the player talks with the Mother Namtaru.
o After creating 100 heroes the 'Create New Hero' button is grayed out and no additional heroes can be created.

Funny thing that after all of this time, they only fix few issues, though I must agree the one concerning dynasty weapons is game breaking. But no mention of black screen issues at all? And another thing, why run uplay autopatch when I have to download the patch manually? Anyway, thanks for letting us now

I downloaded second one with EFIGS.exe suffix and it installed.

The number of fixes this patch makes (although they said the one after 2.1 won't be big) is laughable. It only show that the franchise is treated with minimal resources, at least for now...

It will obviously take longer to fix the host of bugs plaguing the game. But at least they responded with a quick patch of at least one critical problem (mana cost) to show that they're responsive and aim to fix the game. Better than waiting six months just to include everything they can in a single comprehensive patch.

Yes, I'm glad that they did a quite "hotfix" type patch to address that manna bug. I wonder if the other manna bug remains? The one where if you end a campaign map on a week affecting manna costs of spells the effect is permanent for your heroe.

Not quite. I expect the game will be practically dead six months from now, and only played by a group of hardcore players/tournament members. That is, if they won't bring something new like the second expansion (which I highly doubt at this moment)...

Yes, well that's the question. If they never make an effort to clean up the rest of the game then of course they will have failed. And I too am not completely optimistic.

Same here.
I tried the gu.exe file and that didn't work. I thought the reason the game updater file didn't work before was because 2.1 was so big. Why isn't it working now?

Big patch with few fixes  I hope they haven't forgot great list of bugs created by Limbic... or maybe Virtuos has it own list and it's pretty short

I had not been able to see there being a difference 'tween the retail and digital ones. Having a digital version, no wonder the retail version "thought" SoD wasn't installed.
Trying digital patch. Edit: Seems that worked flawlessly.
