Nice one.
Potentially really really good, can have Strength of the Sea and Might of the Nature combo, together with Honor, oh wow, I can't wait to see this.
But it looks like to me that they have introduced a lot of counters to those very strong, ongoing spells.

I think they mentioned that each faction will get creatures with "similar" abilities. The only counter I saw was the creature who steals ongoing spell and then plays it!

As mentioned my bigger concern is the mill factor, losing cards left right an centre.

Retarded as ****.... why do they introduce something so cheap and easy to use, and it counters the whole faction? I know that there isn't only Necro with recursion, but all of their fortunes are basically about it...

man... hard to tell the entire effect of new cards and abilities, but my first guess is we are no longer going to be playing with decks of just 59 cards...

...and why on earth would this card be a necro putting on the mask - this is anything but necro friendly - this hsould be kieran or siegfried - the other 2 nerfed heros

My thoughts exactly after I saw all of this. I think that something like 70 cards will be standard pretty soon after the expansion is released.

The way I see it, milling just randomly affects your potential draws so you cannot depend on getting maxed duplicates of the cards you depend on. And pretty much screws up unique cards, along with academy's other cards. Other than that your combat capabilities remain the same. The only concern is how fast academy can burn through your deck before you run out of cards and how fast you can overwhelm them. It seems they will have some pretty good tanking early on but no serious early offensive.

They don't seem offensive at all yes, but if they soak up all your rush potential, board wipe with AoE spells(OH I JUST LOVE AOE SPELLS!) and just keep milling you, I really hope that other factions will have Answer to this.

Damn that Void Shade looks like a Xeno from Alien series!



Other cards:

Shantiri Titan 11 health! Wow...I don't get the ability saying when has full health it "gains" cannot attack, how can it gain this, surely it's a loss not a gain

Nur (unique creature) when you play an instant spell, draw a card....very nice indeed

Unraveled fate & Conversion of the void very cheap cost to get rid of opponents cards....

Shifting sands Wow, can get rid of alot of enemy cards with this in one turn....

Other thoughts:

Man, there are alot of magic creatures in Academy's line-up, like 80%.

Just thinking with Academy's fortunes, opponents are going to be spending alot of time looking through their graveyards to see what's been taken there...this might mean longer duels...

"Gain" is used not as buff, but it gets cannot attack, wording is a bit confusing.

Derwish Master is really good card, you forgot their other unique creature, which I think is really really cool. Archer that costs 4 resources, 2-2-6 stats, Focused Blast 2 and when he enters the battlefield OR when he attacks, you put crippling counter on another creature. I think that it is amazing card.

Void Shade is just idiotic, 3 cards from library to graveyard whenever he enters or leaves the battlefield... for 3 cost, and those stats, and on top of that it is... magic shooter!?

I love the concept of that Golem that has the ward to those spell schools that you have in your graveyard.

So who's your favorite Academy hero?

I like the champion, Myranda. Don't need teleport for prime, just use her special...seems simple, but I like simple! And access to prime & air is nice!
