Greetings
I am looking for a program that I used a long time ago which could change the battlegrounds in the level editor (like the option to place obstacles yourself) I removed the program a long time ago and I forgot it's name and the creator
Does anyone know what program I mean? Thanks in advance

I'm not aware of a program that lets you place obstacles (that would be quite something!).
There is however a program that predicts what the terrain will look like based on coordinates. It looks like this:

Not the program I meant but maybe it will do too. I might check my old computers for the program as I have no memory of deleting it.

Quick instructions:
(0. extract archive to a folder)
1. run the .exe file (characters may not show up if you don't have the fonts installed)
2. enter the (X,Y) coordinates you want to look up
3. the last field is the terrain type. The following values correspond to terrain type:
1 = Dirt
2 = Sand
4 = Grass
8 = Snow
16 = Swamp
32 = Rough
64 = Underground
128 = Lava
256 = Naval combat
f1 = Coast (terrain next to water)
f2 = Magic plains
f4 = Cursed ground
f8 = Holy ground
f16 = Evil fog
f32 = Clover field
f64 = Lucid pools
f128 = Fiery fields
f256 = Rocklands
f512 = Magic clouds
4. Click calculate

The checkbox on the far right adds the grid to the terrain.
I've had problems with the recent HDmod versions and terrain, they seem to have changed something and it's not representative anymore. I've since reverted to 3.46.

Thanks, much appreciated. You are right about HD, it changes some setting about battlegrounds, Biobob already reported this problem.

Just in case you need it, VCMI team used some reverse engineering to directly reproduce this obstacle-placing algorithm so it behaves identically to H3.
