Heroes III crush error on windows xp

Hello.I have bin playing heroes III for a while, and after a long session the next things happen : the computer and the mouse freezes, then the screen goes black and appears the next message : "vpu recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics commands".After this thing happens I have to restart my pc,and the resolution is changed to gigantic size.

I never had a single crush with Heroes V that consumes a lot of resources, but with Heroes III it happens almost every time.

Does anyone know a solution?.

Well I can tell the next things :

1.) Adapter type : ASUS A9250

Adapter information :

Chip type : RADEON 9200 PRO AGP (0x5960)
DAC type : Internal DAC (500MHz)
Memory size : 256 MB
Adapter String : ASUS A9250
Bios Information : BK-ATI VER008.017D.031.000

Hardware acceleration : full.

2.) Disk drives :

a.) Maxtor 6Y080L0

Driver Provider : Microsoft
Driver Date : 7/1/2001
Driver Version : 5.1.2535.0
Digital Signer : Microsoft Windows Component Publisher

b.) Floppy disk drive

c.) HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4167B

d.) V386 STEALTH DVD SCSI CdRom Device

3.) Operational system : Windows Xp Sp 3

4.) Game played : Heroes III complete (version 4.0) and it's not original : downloaded from a torrent.

Another thing to mention is that Heroes III is the only game that resets my graphics...with others there are almost no problems.

Sounds like either a hardware problem, or a virus. One thing's for sure, a clean H3 installation on a healthy comp does not and should not run into problems like that.
