I once told someone from the US I was from Romania and he jokingly asked : "Do you get hungary a lot?"
And when I told someone from the UK I was living in Bucharest, he said "See you later book arrest"
Not that funny but the Bucharest-book arrest one made me chuckle at the time.

For people interested, I discovered all of this exists as a published book.
Atlas of Prejudice: Mapping Stereotypes by Yanko Tsvetkov:
Amazon
It's 74 pages, you can check a little of the content, it also includes historical stuff like this:

Do you know why Scotland in the NW?
Windshields Here in the Midwest, Hedge is the popular windbreak.<L>
Related to this nonsense; There's a joke that goes like this; Q. Why do all the trees in western Missouri lean towards the West? A. Because Kansas sucks. (wind)

They have some common traits. Galicia was inhabited by Celtics prior to Romans, they have some independence movement (less than Cataluña or Pais Vasco, but still something), the landscape is very mountain focused....yes, I can see the reasoning there

I can't understand those people. They so eagerly rant about independence because of what.. being a bit different? I mean.. my country's history is filled with patriotism. We fought the World Wars for the sole purpose of liberating our lands from foreign occupation. Forfeiting that which was earned with blood for something so trivial seems just insane to me.

When it's not raining, it can be really cool. And the gastronomy is so great

Yes, I also find stupid the Bull fightings (and utterly absurd they call that culture)
But in the map it refers to San Fermin Bull Runs, which is quite different

(It's a historical market in Istanbul).
That's because everyone who goes to Istanbul thinks him/herself obliged to haggle for a bag of candies on Kapaliçarshi. At least everyone I know.

Last night I spoke with a friend from Cataluña and he said "that's very 19th century-esque, they should get over that" but it happens that a lot of his Community (and others part of Spain as I mentioned before)
