A couple of Q's
Hi all, just a couple of quick questions...
- Does the archery ability/skill work on Chakram Dancers (Dungeon)? I see they are a non magic damage ranged class, but when I put a point into archery it did not increase their damage?
- Does completing the campaigns open up any more maps for single player custom games? I see there is a tab in the campaign menu that is shaded out and says I need to complete at least one campaign to play the epilogue maps? Does this mean more maps are made available for custom games if I finish at least one faction campaign?
I dont really like the campaigns and much prefer custom games and the largest maps, and was a bit disappointed that buying the Shades expansion only added an extra two or three maps and no gigantic/huge maps at all :-(
Thanks heaps....

1. Archery affects all ranged attacks, doesn't matter if it's might or magic, so it's stange, your chakram's should've had increased damage...
2. No completing campaigns doesn't open single maps.
I loved the campaigns, I thought they were the highlight of Heroes VI! Especially necro campaign from Shades....

More Maps!!
Hi Doubledeck and everyone,
yeah the campaigns are fun, but I really enjoy the custom maps. I have played every HoMM game and xpac since the first and have loved them all. But I am of average skill so playign against the AI on hard is a good challenge for me and I love the largest maps which let me build up epic armies before getign down and dirty with the enemy.
But with HoMM6 its frustrating there are so few maps, and I suspect ubi may be treating maps as potential DLC assets. Would love to hear if anyone knows where more good maps can be obtained (I have already used maps4heroes).
Personally I dont like dealing with ubisoft, I do accept that DRM is essential nowadays but I find so much of ubisoft's platform is buggy. No point in ranting cuz no doubt it's all been said before, but the number of problems Ive had trying to buy and instal DLC from ubi is frankly ridiculous to put it midly.
Re the archery skill - it really seems like its not working with Chakram Dancer and Shadow Watcher. Their damage range doesnt change when I take archery (going by the stats on their paper doll), and archery doesnt show up in the list of active 'abilities'. Has anybody else noticed this, or am I just somehow misreading this?
Have to say I really enjoy the shades expansion, big cheer for the company who actually designs the game - thank you!
Cheers all

The reason there are so few user-generated maps is that the editor is really bad. I'm afraid You're stuck with the maps You already have.

Archery and Dungeon Ranged
Hi again,
Just want to get some thoughts about this.
Does anyone know for sure if archery is working with Chakram Dancer and Shadow Watcher from proper testing?
I can say for sure that the damage stats for Chakram Dancer and Shadow Watcher does not change after I enable "archery I". The minimum and maximum damage remains the same as before I enable Archery. Also Archery does not show in the list of abilities affecting the creatures.
Thanks!!

Actually, the development team has moved on to greener pastures. Maybe Heroes 7? In any case, Might & Magic: Heroes 6 is finished. It's complete in its current form (with all bugs and shortcomings). Only user-made maps will be added, if at all - but as someone else wrote, the map editor is hell to understand and use, so don't expect as many maps as you'd have with older Heroes games.

Actually, the way DRM is implemented with most games is rather horrendous for the honest players, while piracy is still relatively easily able to circumvent it. The DRM that Ubisoft uses requires a continuous internet connection, even for local, single player games. That's just not viable for everyone, depending on where you live in the world. Luckily for me it's no issue, but a few times I had a short hickup in my connection, which caused the game to immediately terminate and drop me back to the main menu. Speaking about an "in your face" moment there ... and don't expect the game to make a savegame at that point, so you can pick up from again once the connection is back. No, that would be user-friendly ...

Well, DRM as enforced by Steam seems reasonable enough to me.
