Nope, that'd be questionable.
Swearing is not.

But do enlighten me if I missed something.
It's past midnight here and I was watching StarCraft while writing afterall.

1. Percussioncaps are designed to produce a spark in any condition, particularly in wet conditions. Therefore one does not need to "Check if they are dry"
2. The caps are securely lodged onto the nipple. Which enables the spark to reach the detonationchamber. They are, I reitterate, securely lodged, so guns can quickly whipped out or swung left and right without the caps falling off. They need to be pried of after they have been fired. One does not simple have the cap fall off by tilting the revolver backwards.

Ah yes, I was thinking it had something to do with the flipping.
But here's the thing, they do fall off after firing, you know, explosion tend to dislodge things that were once secure. The black powder revolvers with percussion caps had a tendency to jam if the used percussion cap was not let fall off before rotating the chamber and firing again.
If you doubt this you can easily test this with those toy gun percussion caps. Take one, pinch it on something. Explode it. You will find that it will not be securely attached anymore. And remember, in a revolver, there's a high yield explosive right after the percussion cap that dislodges it quite surely.

Did I write check if the percussion caps are dry? Meant chambers are dry and percussion caps secure, will correct that, thanks.

Again, I begg to differ.
Not only do I not need to test this with toys, I already have had it done with actual percussion revolvers. Two people at my shooting range own them. The caps need to be pried of every time.
The reason percussion revolvers misfire is usually due to dirty, bunged up nipples. (something that happens realy fast due to blackpowder being a dirty propellant) Which causes the explosion to go outwards, instead of inward to ignite the powder of the chamber, and malform the caps and getting stuck in the works because the hammer holds the cap in place.
Even if what you say is true, which my experience contradicts, one needs to cock the revolver first, to take the hammer of the cap, which is holding it in place, to be able to let it fall off, causing the cylinder to rotate already.

We seem to be misunderstanding something here. I may perhaps need to reread what I wrote again to see where it is coming from.
A moment.

Quote:
I flip my revolver, let the percussion cap fall out and recock the hammer.

Quote:
I flip my revolver, let the remains of the percussion cap fall out while recocking the hammer.

Does that clear it?

I mean, this is the process the US cavalrymen, for example, shot.
In every single western film. I find it hard to think it would be there just because.

First youtube result and one of the guy's percussion caps falls off. He will explain that sometimes you get fragmented caps that will jam up your cylinder.

Ah, well that's where the misunderstanding stems from.
I've never seen a cap fragment. The ones I've used get bent a little, which keeps them on the nipple.

Well I think the small amount of interest in this, is because the RPers here aren't quite familiar with the genre I chose. Also some of the regular RPers are inactive at the moment.
Maybe a HCM blackmailing and constant spam would be a way to force encourage people to join.
