43 packs and only Ysera, Unleashed as a guaranteed Legendary.
Never lucky with initial pack opening.
At least I got quite a few Epics.

From 55 packs I got the new Malygos, Deathwing and Frizz Kindleroot (the one that reduces Dragons in your deck by 2). So I am really pleased, yet I don't know what deck to build. I tried a Galakrond Priest, was decent but I don't like the random cards you gain from invoking. They come so slow and cards themselves can be bad.
Gonna try some Mage or Warrior next!

Because I got Ysera and almost all Druid cards I'm trying a Dragon Druid deck. Seems decent especially with Embiggen.
I'm also trying Galakrond Shaman deck, the one you can make from in-game recepie. I even crafted Dragonhoof to boost Galakrond decks.
Ah yeah and also am using Galakrond Priest deck recepie. If it turns out not that good in the long run I'll switch to Dragon Priest cus I always liked this archetype. Crafted Murozond for that exact reason (plus he seems like a good card overall and is a badass Dragon  ).
Seeing quite a lot of Galakrond Warrior with Rush package.
Btw I can't praise enough the fact that they changed class quests so that you don't need to win anymore, just play them.

Pretty solid opening day. Sadly nothing to make a deck.

That's a nice haul, wish I had a similar one, pity timer is currently set on 34 pack, sigh...
Waxdred can be used in a "copy a minion" shenenigans Rouge deck.

At this point I accepted I will never get the cards I want in packs, need to craft them. But it's ok, that's what earning dust is for afterall...

I don't think those nerfs were even that worthwile.
From a casual point of view I enjoy the expansion, but there is definately something wrong with the power level.
A 4 mana Rouge card that cheats out a 7/7 mech
A 0 cost card that makes all your minions +2/+2 for a measily (1) more mana. Yeah, good luck removing that 7/6 or 9/9 Dragons immune to spells.
1 mana 2 dmg spell that makes you choose a Dragon for free...
But it is damn enjoyable so far

Man that Apothecary (Rogue 4 mana card) is busted. In addition the whole deck is built around that single card, which makes playing against it insanely annoying. Either they draw it and you are getting rolfstomped, or they don't and you roll over them. Takes all the joy even from winning.
However I have not seen that Druid card you mentioned played against me a single time in this expansion So if it is good, no one seems to be playing it, at my rank at least.
Alextraza is super strong, like lol. I play her, but I think she might be too strong. Sometimes you get 3 Alextrazas in a row and opponent concedes xD
Oh and btw I am pretty sure there is no 1 mana 2 damage spell that lets you discover a dragon  You can discover a spell if you are holding a Dragon though.

Yeah but that's because I think there are stronger decks so people don't experiment with Druid that much (although all netdecks I've seen from the card set are running this card). But belive me it's busted. I play Dragon Druid and the potential is there (although I think running two in a deck would be overkill).

Yeah I meant the discover while holding a Dragon one. But because everyone and their mom are currently running the Dragon package in Mage I don't think this is that great of an issue, even keeping only Azure Explorers and the new Malygos is enough...

Absolutely a good idea. It was my first craft, and I get to use her in 2 different decks, Highlander Warlock and Mage. There are not many bad dragons, and even if you don't get a Dragon that is just game breaking, getting anything for 0 mana is simply amazing.
+ you get to play cool Dragons you wouldn't normally put into your deck. Did you know Priest has a Dragon that plays all cards your opponent played last turn? I had forgotten it existed, and man that is cool

Haha, be amazed but I actually crafted Murozond and play him in Priest (yes I play Priest ). I can now put Tyrande's face instead of Anduins, so it's a lot more digestible.
I'll think about Alex but I need to analyze in how many decks I can utilize her in. From my current decks I can use her only in Highlander Hunter, so it seems a bit wasteful atm. I'm also thinking about Frizz, because I have at least 3 decks in which I could use her...
I'm hoping for some more Dragons from the Adventure (35 new cards) later in 2020, so crafting those two cards might make even more sense...

Galakrond's Awakening Adventure was pretty fun.
The first 3 chapters were so so and I didn't even track what was going on other then "one party smacking the other", but the last chapter had some fun battles (on the E.V.I.L side) and a cool reveal (about Reno) even if the conclusion doesn't make that much sense.
The rewarded cards themselves are so so, I don't think there are that many Thaurissan level of game changers, but some will definately make their way into some decks.
I wonder where the game will go from this point. I enjoyed this year and the culminating expansion, Descent of Dragons, is probably my favourite, or close to being one, yet. Looking at the calendar theretically we are not far from the next expansion (usually due to release in April), but so far they didn't even tease us with any plans for this year plus I assume the Adventure itself might be treated as an expansion. All this while some important people have left the team to "work on other projects" which people interpret as signs of Hearthstone 2 being in development (or some auto-chess type of game if Battlegrounds could be taken as a point of reference).
Truth be speaking Hearthstone is the last Blizzard game I'm playing, but I'm treating it as something that "old Blizzard" made. I'm pretty much over with the company after their recent shenenigans (Warcraft 3 Reforged fiasco being the final nail to the coffin) until they do some serious redemptioning on their part which is highly doubtful (they're past their original standards as a company now).
Hearthstone was one hell of a ride, but I think that as long as Blizzard themselves won't put a kill switch on it, I won't stop playing it I think for as long as it's making them money they won't as Blizzard is in a tight spot atm when it comes to IP's that generate them income and interest as their current financial reports show.

Hey let me just chime in.
So I too think this recent expansion has been one of the best to date.
I too am wondering where they will go this year. Since the Dragon year had a somewhat good narative.
And as you write, HS is the only game from Blizzard I play nowadays. Sigh. And yes HS is pretty old. It is 6 years old.  They do not have any other games worth playing.

Well funnily enough I have getten hooked on Battlerounds lately, while originally I was not a fan. Now I play it more than constructed haha.
Man I was too harsh on the design because it wasn't like other Auto-Battlers, to which I had gotten used to. But this is faster (Blizzard seems to like that) and it feels fresh.

Tried Battlegrounds once, never touched it again. Just not my thing.
But it's good people are enjoying it. After the first wave of skepticism, I belive many people have come to enjoy this mode, and that is good for the health of the game.
I'm pretty much surprised because at the begining of the year I really thought H was nearing its end (more like Hearthstone 2 was incoming, that's what I thought), but looking at recent teasers there are some big plans for it still.
I don't know what to think, because frankly the only way I will ever stop playing this game is when they simply kill it off

Hearthstone leak (Spoilers!)
Seems legit if you ask me...
EDIT: Leaks were legit.
Demon Hunter is the new class in Heartshtone. Might be interesting. I think they missed the moment it was best to introduce a new class, but I think it will shake things up either way. They paved the way, so I hope Monk is next (Death Knight was kinda explored already), as I would very much like something Far East themed in Hearthstone.
But I'm excited for another thing: no duplicates rule in cardpacks on all rarities! Finally, getting same cards in packs or missing some elusive Rares (while getting 10th copy of the one you have already) when you're f2p was so frustrating, and now you're not gonna get that 4 Astral Communions in a row
- Leeroy and Mountain Giant are getting HoF-ed which is big, but also MCT, Acolyte of Pain and Spellbreaker
- I don't care about Priest, but the changes (card "buffs" and HoF) are probably in the right direction. I really hope this won't promote Resurrect Priest even more as imo it's one of the most frustrating to play against class archetypes in the game atm (if we're talking Wild ofc)...
- Ashes of Outland looks good thematically, a lot of familiar faces Prime mechanic looks interesting, a Deathrattle that kinda works like White-Eyes which gives those cards more presence (the theme is that a cult of some kind "resurrects" minions as mechs/cyborgs).
Damn, no putting off Hearthstone for next couple of months
