I don't blame it ALL on luck. I said that RNG really likes to screw me over, at least that's the impression I get playing this game. because I really do not see it.
Some examples of elements I find RNG heavy that based on how they play out can create an entirely different outcome for the game:
- Ragnaros hitting your face (especially for lethal), when you have a board full of minions.
- Lightning Storm hitting for two dmg when your in desperate need of clearing those 3 health minions (like Trogg) in order to stop a zooish onslaught with no spell power boost in place (cause you got a 1/1 totem beforehand)
- Boom bots hitting for 4 dmg while yours hit for 1 (dr. 7 is still popular in Wild)
- Ysera giving you minions when you need a way to stop opponent minions with a boardclear, 'sap' it's minion or simply to finish him.
- Brawl leaving an opponents minion even when you have like 3 (I think this scenario is even more notorious then it was a few moths back)
- Unstable Portal giving a charge minion to hit your face, or finishing off a crucial minion.
- Ram Wrangler summoning Acidmaw, while your controling the board with stronger minions, while he has a few small ones (sorry this guy is less popular nowadays, but I encountered this scenario so many times I can't even count it)
- Burgle copying your Flamestrike and Fireball for boardclear and finishing you off...
I can give you more examples if you want. In close games this kind of things are something that no amount of planning will protect you against.
Mulligans won't always turn in your favor, so even with the right deck, you might not have the right cards anymore to react when a Lightning Storm fails to clear the board etc.
I understand things like predicting a board clear, reducing chances of RNG kicking you in the balls, but sometimes you're simply not able to react if some things go into your opponents favor. No amount of planning and predicting will save you from something that comes right out from the hat...
EDIT: Hmm, I think this is an interesting opinion. What do you guys think?

Here is the deck list of my Warrior:

The reason for putting the cultist into my deck is quite easy to explain:
It is a Reno-C'Thun-Warrior deck. So to prevent my Reno from not having effect because of double cards in my deck I don't have too many C'Thun buffing cards in my deck. So if my Imperator Veklor should work, I need a C'Thun with 10 10 stats. I sometimes ran into the situation at turn 7 my C'Thun still had no buff cards seen.
I changed this cultist for the "siege engine" resp. for "piloted sky golem".

I have now started saving up for the next expansion.  The game is boring me, so I am just doing my quest and saving them moneys for an upcoming expansion.

For those of you who don't know: If you buy Warcraft movie on Bluray you get 3 codes to use in Blizzard games. One of them is a 30-day trial for WoW.
Aside from that the second one of them is Medivh hero skin for Heartshtone, so in theory you're getting a 9 Euro buyback. Add the fact that you're also getting Gul'dan hero for HotS, who also can be 'converted' into money, and you're getting a nice deal... if you of course liked the movie, like I did

So, last week or something I decided to try buying some Old Gods packs instead of always Classics. And today I got some rather nice packs. Among some other cards I've waited for for some time (e.g. Cult Sorcerer, Demented Frostcaller) I also got an Epic and a Legendary. A Giant Earth Worm and Soggoth the Slitherer.
Nice! The second Legendary I got from a pack. At the moment I just don't see a deck in which he will fit.

Both cards that you got aren't played too much (I don't remember seeing Worm ever actually), but I wouldn't discard them completly. Of course in your position dusting them will probably be a better option cause you need playable cards at this point.
I tried Worm, but unfortunately it didn't fit into any of my decks. This card might see play if Control Hunter will be a thing and because CotW was moved one spot higher on curve. Unfortunately for it Hunter has better cards to play, and the way I see it, this card could only work with Bestial Wrath, but I don't have one so I can't try it...
Soggoth is a bit more useful imo. Some people use him in control decks as a late game shield, and he might work in Taunt Warrior (but this one is a very rare deck). It's rare to see him, but because you probably lack some big bodies atm, you should shove him into some of your decks at least for now.
You probably should ask someone like Abaddon though
EDIT: So Blizzard has announced Heroic Brawl. Not for me, paying 1000 gold to loose three times is not a good deal (though damn, dat reward for 12 wins). A shame that we'll loose a free pack from time to time... and it might be just me but I think this is not the 'answer' that players were waiting for. It's also funny how Blizzard asked in a poll if players would like to pay for content and announce this a few days later. Of course it's optional and they don't force you to pay, but still... this looks like a money grab. Why? Cause it's for a small % of the players base who are good, and the rest will probably be attracted by the high reward potential and pour in money. Don't get me wrong, Blizzard has given a lot of free stuff already, but this just seems wrong imo or at least not the kind of direction I wish for this game to go...

I too am confused about the reasoning behind heroic brawl. The concept doesn't appeal to me.
Then we can discuss if they are going in the right direction. I don't like this way - Too many micro-payments.. It's annoying. I do not know what to say really. It annoys me.

A new patch hit bringing a lot of new daily quests. And I mean A LOT (like 30!?). It's good that most of them are 'you don't have to win to complete' quests Also a Murloc 100 gold quest? And the expansion is coming hmmm...
There's also some interesting datamining, Challanger quests?
This comes as no surprise, but it appears they're preparing ground for the next expansion.

I've picked ThijsNL. He's from Europe, is one of the few guys I recognize, has quite a good tournament record and imo he's bound to win at least a few games.
Even if not, at least I'll get one free TGT pack
Hmm, I think adding those new quests was a good idea, they'll make dailies a bit less repetetive. I really like the fact most of them are not 'win-game' dailies, that'll make getting packs easier.
The only downside is that the chance to get 'Play a Friend' 80g quest dropped substantially and me and my pal were getting quite a lot of them so far
Oh and if you're interested guys it appears that those new achievements that net you Classic Pack are connected to the returning players challange which probably triggers after 3+ months of not playing the game.

Well I can't play for 5 months so at least that will give me a free pack then i guess xD. I will confirm if this is true around Januari.
Also: where can you vote for the champions for free packs? (I tried looking around a bit but the internet is horrible at this place, hence why I can't play HS.

So a few teasers these days.. Some Gadgetzan hints; a bank, a newspaper, a bot you can chat with..
I have a funny feeling about this one. I remember Ben Brode talking about they wanted to do a dark exp. after TgT and then they wanted a light hearted approach with Karazhan. I think they staying on that funny, yet mystery feeling for the next thing coming up.

Thinking about getting back into the game, but when I think on everything I missed (cards I will probably never be able to get, probably missed the whole Blackrock expansion, etc) my inner completionist cries in a corner.

Starting with the next expansion all you have to worry about is Kahrazan, Old Gods and the new one coming out since all others are rotating out of the standard format early next year.

Hmm, those Gadgetzan hints are interestingly pointing into an 'Adventure' direction...
At this point I simply can't imagine a normal expansion build around this theme unless it's just a part of the whole. And it feels a bit similiar to LoE...
To tell you the truth from all the themes they could've picked up this one is not something I'm that hyped about. But let's give them a chance, it might turn into a nice 'gangster/rob a bank' adventure for instance.

To be honest I have no idea what direction these hints are going.. A lot of people are fearing another GvG - Personally I still have faith in Team 5 and believe they will not rehash old themes. I am more fond on the idea about pirates ..
It could also be an adventure, but they just said that they wanted to do Expansion - Adventure - expansion. So well.. They might have changed direction ..

Opened an Anomalus in a pack. I doubt this, but do you guys have some expierience with him? I only see him in some kind of gimmicky combo with Moat Lurker or in a spell heavy Mage deck as an additional boardclear. But yeah, he's pretty much useless...
PS: So Thijs didn't do well in the Tournament. It's funny how so many people on HearthPwn are raging because it appears a lot of guys put their bets on him like me. Well I wouldn't put my bets on any other player anyway cause I simply didn't know them. No more free packs for me then
