The Kabal dragon from the trailer is actually the Kabal leader Kazakus. See here for a very compelling argument that is basically bullet proof. Only bummer is that we didn't get a dragon form card for him or all that many Dragons for that matter but then again the potion and the operative are excellent cards, so can't really be disappointed in that regard.

And you were almost right Wrathion is one of two original lore characters, Major Noggenfogger is in fact canon amongst other things you could get the "Noggenfogger potion" in WoW which turned you into a skeleton and gave you the featherfall ability. Lots of fun in vanilla for me.
Other than that Wrathion is anything but consistant , I like him and he does seem strong but consistant is hardly the word since most dragon decks will run at the very least 9-10 Dragons aswell as mulligan for early game minions further reducing the non-dragon hits you can get. But he is like a curator for a dragondeck if you get more than 1 card with him I feel that would be great already.
And Cleaner doesn't seem too amazing to me until we get new deathrattles. I mean sure he can silence sylvanas but honestly there aren't that many decks that run her anymore. If you look at the ladder it's tempo mages, midrange shamans, miracle rogues (all of which run 0 deathrattles outside of thalnos) and secret hunters where silencing a highmane still leaves you in a ton of trouble since the 6-5 is still there.
Big fan of the Demon Spawner epic for Warlock though. Sure it's random which sucks but its still a good body that can give you great value when not dealt with. Doesn't seem unfair.
Also I feel like public defender has potential.

Also I am super disappointed with the state of paladin. From what I can gather they didn't get any good support for a midrange or control build which makes me quite sad since it is one of my favourite classes. I mean there looks to be a very strong aggro deck in there (that doesn't even make use of the pitifully sad class mechanic of the goons) but I'm personally not too big of a fan of the vomit-hand-divine favour-vomit-hand-pray-for-no-aoe gameplan.

Kripp review

Waiting for trump to review the rest of the set as well.

I agree with the state of paladin. I am a hunter and paladin player (mostly), and I do not feel like they got anything good or anything fun. Just like I did not like the WotoG paladin cards ..

This is a gimmicky expansion. It has a lot of fun and wacky ideas. I cannot wait to see how these factions will affect the game overall. But currently I am fearing those jade decks..

I would love to see a more lore based expansion in the future.

I think this expansion brings some potential, but I will wait until these cards are played before I will criticize them. Only, why would you want to play that Weasel Tunneler? It's actually a 1/1 with a bad deathrattle.
At first I also really wondered about Greater Arcane Missiles. But these actually have a great synergy with spell damage, as they  do not just deal one damage more with one spell damage (like the normal missiles), but 3 as every missile is buffed. They also aren't that horrible against Acolytes or Patrons.

But, I've got two questions:
1. Should i dust Millhouse Manastorm, whom I got recently? I just can't imagine taking the risk to play him.
2. I wanted to buy the opera part of Karazhan soon. But, with the expansion coming out in some days, should I rather safe for that?

EDIT: There seems to be no brawl coming this week. Or at least my game is not telling me there is one to come, which it normally does. Why is that?

Weasel can be used to fill your opponents deck with a crappy card. It being a beast it will combo with hunters, but yes I would argue it is pretty bad.

Dust Millhouse! useless card.

Thanks Abaddon, some other guy hinted this somewhere, but I couldn't get the pieces together (those hair and tusks give him away). Maybe there's a potion choice that turns him into a Dragon? Here's a nice idea [KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A FAKE]:

I agree that ultimately Paladin didn't get that much love. If Grimey Goon/Hand buff concept fails, that will leave this class with not that many novelties. And from what we could see via stream hand buff mechanic has a big downside to it: the buff animation highlights all minion cards in hand, so it can tell your opponent how many spells you have etc. I think in competetive play that's huge.

Personally I'm a fan of Grimestreet Protector, but he will probably turn out too slow.

People are theorizing that Weasel is a Reno counter, but who would run two of those? It's like with this card that un-stealths minions: who will run that many Stealth minions in the first place?

PS: DAT Jade Lotus cardback! Me want!

Ereinion please go right ahead and dust Millhouse, while its never fun to disenchant a legendary I guarantee you you will absolutely not regret it and anything you craft from him will be more useful to you.

As to whether you should keep unlocking the adventure wings or go for expansion money that's up to you.
In theory I would advise against spending your gold on an adventure when you are a new player (the gold to card/dust ration is abysmal compared to packs) since I'D recommend new players to simply grow their collection in order for them to be able to make a variety of decks. On the other hand if you know that are cards in kharazan you would absolutely love to play with then you should not feel bad about spending your money on the adventure since the downside of being "ineffective" and giving you a smaller collection is offset by you getting exactly what you want, which you are obviously never guranteed from packs.

Also there will be a special Diablo themed brawl in honor of Diablos upcoming 20 year anniversary, which is why it make take longer for us to get a brawl.

My problem with just dusting Millhouse is that I've totally no idea what to craft with that dust. I'm mainly playing Tempo Mage on ladder atm. And not that unsuccessfully, when not playing against Zoo. Last season I reached only rank 17 this one I jumped to 12. There are just a few cards I would still implement in my Tempo Mage and these are Flamewaker, Babbling Book and maybe Bloodmage or Barnes. I think I would not even go for Cabalist tome. I'm not gonna get Flamewaker, as Blackrock will rotate out to soon. And the others are all in Karazhan. So, I could only craft Bloodmage, but he doesn't seem that important.

But, maybe you are right with just buying packs. Because, with all other heroes I'm totally at a loss what to play, as I'm missing huge amounts of cards.

Interesting: they've changed the Hearthstone logo (by removing the Heroes of Warcraft subtitle). Seeing how the newest expansion is almost entirely devoid of lore characters, maybe they're really trying to seperate from the main Warcraft games...

OK 2000 gold in the bank, I'm ready!

Guys a question. Do you suggest crafting some cards right from the start? Of course after I open the packs. I have 3200 dust. It's not that I want to spend it all at once but I simply wonder if you think there are some insta-craft cards? From my point of view Kazakus and Raza are worth crafting from the get go, I also would like to try some new Dragon oriented Priest cards so Dragonfire Potion and Drakonid Operative might also be one of my first crafting picks.

It depends on what kind of player you are. If you want to maximize your "dust efficiency" just wait like a week or so to see which cards and decks are the big players and then spend your resources accordingly.

If you're more on the casual side and want to do your own thing with cool/fun decks I'd say just go with whatever tickles your fancy the most. The Reno legendaries you mentioned fall firmly in this category in my opinion.

It is also worth noting that we'll get 6 packs sort of for free.
There will be quests to win 2 or 3 games with a class from each gang to get 2 free packs for each gang. I don't know how this is going to be implemented though.

Odd you've always struck me distinctly as someone in category 2. Not that there'd be anything wrong with that, I'm right in there myself but then again I am in a position where I don't have to be super stingy with my dust which helps.

Abaddon and blob2 getting along? Did the hell freeze over while I was gone?

Anyhow some cards should be crafted asap if you do necessarily want to play a certain arcetype. Can't play D-Priest without Drakonid Operative imho. if I cant get any from pack yes I will craft but also depending on what I get from packs might influence what decks I pursue (except Shaman, not touching OP class before it isn't anymore )

I have always targeted decks I want, so I doubt you blob2 can make yourself to crafting Rares

They are getting along real nicely.

Blob - I say craft what ever you want

And to the question about them going away from the Warcraft lore - They just moved one of the main story writers from the WoW team to the Hearthstone team. I have forgotten his name, but he has been responsible for the main storyline of WoW for a few years now and it could indicate them trying to make hearthstone a more standalone game.

Honestly that sounds like a demotion. What would the poor man/woman even do? Hearthstone has no storyline, its a game played in taverns across azeroth in the lore, not sure how much you can do if that is the basis of any story.
Not to mention that you get people a lot more invested in any given story with quests where they actively contribute to the advancement of any given arc (which a rpg can obviously do a lot easier than a card game lol). You can't tell me any adventure is gonna need someone of that calibre to give it a theme/plot and it's not like Hearthstone is going for anything other than a whimsical and casual atmosphere where exactly does an accomplished writer fit in there?

Read it for yourself. Dave Kosak

What could this mean for the future of both franchises? Well, we've recently seen that Hearthstone is becoming more independent from World of Warcraft by having its own unique characters and unexplored storylines. League of Explorers and the soon-to-be-released Mean Streets of Gadgetzan expansion are good examples of how Hearthstone slowly deviated from its origins. We've also seen Hearthstone characters find their way into World of Wacraft: for example, Sir Finley is a quest giver in Legion.

Hey, welcome back @Minion, fixed your keyboard?

About the writer guy, maybe they will suprise us with more story driven expansions?

@Abaddon - well, I am a casual player and I lean towards option number 2, but recent expieriences with getting quite a few double Legendaries from packs which I crafted beforehand taught me to be more patient. I have a friend who doesn't craft almost any cards and sits on like 10000k dust cause he says it's more fun to get a Legendary from a pack and build sth around it then craft like a maniac plus this reduces the chance to get doubles. That's a bit extreme, but the bit about getting doubles works for me especially cause I calculated that I'm getting a Legendary once per 17 packs on avarage. Patience will be rewarded cause I almost don't get 'pack doubles' only doubles of cards I crafted before I'll only craft a card like Kazakus when I think it's fun enough to do so.

There's only one type of cards I craft almost without second thought - Dragons.

PS: Be careful guys, NA players report that there's something wrong with getiing a lot of tri-class cards from packs and Blizzard is looking into it. I hope they'll fix this until the 00:00 AM CET release....

I think they want to give Hearthstone its own voice/narative. Make it stand more apart from WoW. It could be a way to say that Hearthstone is a stand alone game and not a side game.

Yeah I saw that NA-thing. I think I will keep watching twitter and decide tomorrow what they have figured out

30 min until release and the issue is still not fixed. Probably because they're thinking about the best course of action. I don't think switching the drop rates is a problem, it's probably just a matter of changing some numbers, but the aftermath is what's worse. People are furious, cause what if they get a Kazakus (which is fine) when they're also getting a snowload of dust via duplicate tri-class commons instead of a base for their MSoG collection.

This f*ckup will leave a mark undoubtly.

EDIT: Problem appears to be solved. NA players will get as many packs as the 33% of the opened packs for compenstaion.

So I just opened my 29 Gadgetzan packs and oh boy did I draw the nuts... I got absurdly lucky

Just to set the tone for you guys

The gravy train didn't stop there oh no.... I got FOUR legendaries out of which one was golden!!!!
Three of those were legendaries I was going to craft with 100% certainty:
Raza the Chained (Priest Legendary)
Hobart Grabblehammer (Warrior Legendary)
Krul the Unshackled (Warlock Legendary)

and..... well see for yourselves

Needless to say I'm no longer sad that I missed rank 5 for the first time since forever this month.
Hope your pack openings work out great aswell!!

Yo! You are one lucky dude.. I got **** - or well I got a few good epics and all, but only 1 legendary and guess who I got?! Noggerfogger.. :/ (opened 19 packs in total - 21 now that I have done one of the quests).

But I had one REALLY fun battle. Doing some shaman stuff. I play master of evolution on Barnes and I get White Eyes. White eyes die and shuffles the storm giant into deck. I draw it next turn. Boom instant concede Damn that guy is huge!
