I was going to grab Knowledge: the Planes as well.
Lucerne Hammer. It doesn't do quite as much damage as a Greatsword, but it has two damage types. But it also weighs a lot, so I think I'm just going to grab a (non-mythril) backup weapon instead.

Actually, the Lucerne hammer does the same as a greatsword, you're just dealing 1d12 instead of 2d6. It also has Reach, which means that you can attack people that aren't in your face... But if something is adjacent to you, then you have to step away from them before you can attack. Meanwhile, a greatsword will only be able to attack a person adjacent to you. It's a strange balance between polearms and normal weapons, but o er all they function about the same.

Yes it does; the minimum the Greatsword can do is 2, while the minimum the hammer can do is 1.
Also gnomes, please let me know what of the following does NOT fall under our 'normal adventuring stuff, subtract 40 gold' rule, and how much it costs so I know what to subtract. In particular I'm looking at the rope and the oil (how much per flask?).
Rations (14 days)
Rope (100 ft)
Candles (7)
Bag of Marbles (26)
Wand of Sepia Snake (10 charges) (1,350)
Greatsword (Mithral, Sharkskin grip, +2 enchant –> 50 + 4000 + 40 (assuming the whole weapon is made of leather <.< ) + 8000)
Some sort of armor (???)
Oil
chalk
cheap parchment (50 sheets)
Bottle of Ink
Quill (3)
Waterskin, cantine or equivalent
Sleeping bag or similar
Tent
Cookpot
Bug repellant
Some form of cloak or cape
Civilian clothing
Soap
Salt (falls under rations?)
Butter (falls under rations?)
Eating spoon, fork, knife
Sling (free)
Ammo for sling (10) (1)
Backpack to put it all in!
Edit: I have just discovered that I apparently can't spell mithral.
Edit again:
My skill points to allocate are (2 (Paladin) + 2 (Int mod) + 1 (Human)) * 7 (level) = 35 total?

Looking over the character I would switch to should this be taken out, I'm not sure he would reach the level needed for him to do what I want him to do. Oh well. I'll figure something out. Maybe I'll play him anyway.(Or not, if the need doesn't arise )

@Kareeah: True, it can actually hit 1... But it can also hit 12 more often, and the difference in average damage is literally 1/2 a point. But I digress.
The only thing that doesn't fall under the 40 gold typical stuff is bug repellant... As that sort of doesn't exist in the setting

Assuming your Int is 14 or 15(don't want to go back to check your other post) then yes. Unless you put some of your favored class points into skills.

Bah, I need to make a Use Magic Device check to use a wand?

So there's no lemongrass in this setting?
Also gnomes, could I get boots of sharkskin for a +2 vs losing my feet (walking on slippery surfaces--ice, oil--and/or trip attempts)? I want gloves too, but they have an effect listed for that.
@Geny: What feat are you taking to swap Intimidate over to Wis, and are there any that are similar to it?
EDIT:
@Geny: Did you see this feat?

@Kareeah: If the spell is not on your spell list, you do need to make a UMD check on a wand or rod. And no lemongrass for you. You will take those mosquito bites and like it!
Also, I suggested (and am allowing) the D&D 3.5 feat Zen Archery, which allows Geny to apply his Wisdom modifier to ALL ranged attack rolls (even those that are thrown or from a crossbow). That way, he doesn't have to hunt for a specific god with the specific weapon he will be using as his favored weapon that happens to share his alignment...
And the Intimidate being Wis instead is from his Inquisition, not a feat.

All right, but if you throw Dire versions of any sort of insect at us, I will be calling you out on it.
Am I to assume the feats I choose are not counting the various weapon and armor proficiencies a Paladin defaults with? Because if I have to pick those to get them, there isn't a whole lot of point in me browsing the list.
Also you didn't answer me about the boots.

@OmegaDestroyer: Did so with a fair amount of my rogue builds in NeverWinter, actually. Worked out fine there. Hoping for the same.
@KareeahIndaga: Noticed you didn't put base saves down. 5, 2, 5, with the 2 being Ref. Two handed weapon damage gets 1.5 str modifier, rounded down, added to it. So, for you, +6. And is the +2 in the weapon's area its own +? If so, it goes right after the weapon, and you add that to the attack bonus, for the weapon's total attack bonus.

Question about magical weapons: the special abilities have caster levels on them. Does that mean I can't (at this point) use an ability with CL higher than 7?
Also, how much ammunition is needed for your average adventure? Should I consider taking an Unlimited Ammunition weapon? Or should I just pack a bunch of durable arrows? That sounds better actually...

Looking at Dillente maybe I'll swap it out for Scholar instead. It fits the character, but it seems the +2 only applies if my skill level is 5 or less, making it useless for the Knowledges I actually want to boost and more useless if I decided to put more points in a Knowledge skill later on. :\ While Scholar will get better if I level.
@Alkar: I'm not sure what you're asking. I added my +2 to a stat to Strength (it doesn't seem to calculate right if I just add +2 after it) and the weapon is +2.
@Gnomes: How does Exotic ammunition work with a non-exotic weapon? I'm looking at the little starstones for party-signaling purposes.
Also, how do I determine how much my misc. adventuring gear weighs?

@Kareeah: So, your weapon would be a Greatsword +2, and you would add another 2 to its damage. 2d6+8

Well, that works, sure. But you still need to show why you are getting the +2's. The weapon name itself should have the +2 at its end.
