The portraits look to be of lower quality than usual. They don't blend with the background, something feels off

Lol dungeon feels like it drew the short straw in heroes. Seriously it has worst heroes so far! Academy gets + 100% rakshasas per week, dungeon gets... + 1 minotaur per week...?!?(not quite how I would've imagined darkstorm either... ) Edit: and I mean the specialization, the portrait looks great IMO.
And two heroes who get extra skill and ability..?
+2 might when other teams get some +4 or +6 stats to them...?
I'm just gonna go to my bed, cry myself to sleep and hope that once I wake up all this was just a horrible nightmare 
Seriously... They said the specialization are just place-holders, but when exactly are we gonna start seeing the "real" specializations?!? All I keep seeing is the same crappy stuff since the beginning... Same crap as in h6, only worse!

Halt. It has always been written the creature growth is increased +X, never "by 1". Surprisingly enough, in beta it was written the creature growth is increased by +100%... hm.
Maybe it's because minotaurs are actually really more powerful and expensive and offer a different kind of challenge than the other......ah who am I kidding it's probably just a typo.

Portraits:
Specs: well, to be expected, of course. However, I think this is headed in the right direction:
"Specialization: Mana specialist (Hero starts with the Prime Magic skill and Novice Mana regeneration as free ability.)"
If only his mana regeneration could increase as he levels up, just as Yeshtar's Might can increase by 1 for every 3 levels she obtains.

Well, technically, in H7 he strikes his first bargain and thus hasn't done it before. Likely, his bio in H5 refers to the same event as the one in H7. In H5 he has mastered this ability to empower spells etc, which is his specialization there. In H7, the event may still be 'fresh' and he hasn't discovered its potentials yet...
Maybe. Though it does mention his ability comes from dealing with shadow dragons. If one looks at the timeline, though, he gained this ability, replaced it with mana regeneration, then somehow gained the ability back. Even if it the skills and perks are different in this game, I guess it is just another hint why at least warlocks could have focus on the damaging spells rather than dark magic-related ones.

Btw I think there is something seriously wrong with Sinitar... It's sorcerer so it has prime as main skill thus can access GM... That has to be a mistake! I mean academy had water specialization for a hero that would reach master level and haven fire spec that could reach only expert..? and of course dungeon has Ashbeth(trickster) with exploration while the class prevents getting GM for that(as it would need dark blade class).

Holy cow, did they fix the coding of the homepage? I could actually log in WITHOUT refreshing browser AND I can post a comment.  This gives me hope that in 2017 we will have a working Heroes 7.

All other specialization are somewhat connected to units and skills, even though they are just one-time bonus. In Yeshtar's case she just got a stat increase. This is very wrong.

i have a serious problem about 7 because it looks like a heroes 6 (worst heroes game ever in my opinion) and i dont' want to see homm 6 system in the new homm game. Heroes 5 still best for me.
