Yea storms got the right of it. I'm optimistic for the future but still got to be realistic. The game isn't a priority in Ubi eyes. It sucks but it's true. While I think they did there best to scrap together a decent heroes game with what they had, I wouldn't expect more than one or two expansions. Maybe they'll try and milk it with some dlc stuff but I don't care for that.

Oh they will definitely try to milk it, they will release a few Axeoth scenarios in order to throw sand in the eyes of the community. After all you need to buy the potential future expansions and games....

I'm pretty sure the realism within me says that we can only watch how this thing crumbles to dust. You guys think that an expansion is warranted for H7 just because even H6 got one? Consider to reconsider folks.

I do wonder what story that expansion will tell. The War of the Gray Alliance? Oh wait, they could build H8 around that ...

i think that ubisoft must support their game try to fix it,release Axeoth DLCs and then an expansion if possible. But after that they should really stop with the series. They gave what they had to give, we dont want another heroes game from them. The series should end here in their 7nth installment or they should pass the game in an other company(even though i dont have one in mind). Every game from them is an unfinished mess a sloppy and hasty work and then they fix it with patches... If they dont want to take their time and release a game worthy of its name they must abandon the series and sell the franchise to someone who cares and can do a nice TBS game

Why should Ubisoft fix anything? What have they hired Limbic for? Who do you think holds the responsibility for the code of the game? All these technical issues and design execution have Limbic written all over them. Performance issues, bad optimization, crazy RAM consumption (32 GB anyone?), bugs galore, not to mention they can't provide functional multiplayer or a reasonable sane AI. What are they gonna blame now, the engine again? It's goddamn UE3. No, the only thing left to blame is their incompetence. They were not up to the task and Ubisoft's only mistake as far as that goes was that they hired them.

Of course Heroes 7 will have at least 1 xpac. Instead of fixing all bugs, they will fix half the bugs and offer bug fixes in the said xpac. People will be forced to buy it. This is how Ubi does business.

It's a memory leak. H5 still leaks even with TOTE. And it has a very dumb and slow AI (without the unofficial "QT" patch). I think we should wait a few months to see if they can patch it, it's just too early to judge it now. Since I've recognized this global bugfest trend in gaming industry I never buy games while patching is in progress, I recommend this habbit to everyone

you act as if Nival got away with it for Heroes 5's memory leaks and crap AI, the community took them to task for these flaws which still aren't considered acceptable or forgiven (only with the Quantomas patch is that game anywhere near the best in the series for me) lol
if they will charge €49.99 for their product right now I recommend the habbit to judge it in the pre-beta stage it's in right now and not where it might be in two years, that would be the path of anti-consumerists and speculators while most players who pay AAA money for the game expect AAA quality in return lol
Quantomas said: It is the same as with this wretched argument that Heroes V had as many bugs as H6. I hope that, like with H6, expansion will take place around 100 years after the events of H7 and tell us about Fifth Eclipse, creation of Gray Alliance and, possibly, fall of Lorekeep.

First of all, the expansion pack needs to be released to make such a situation possible and with negative sales (click here to see what I'm talking about) this seems highly improbable. And if Might & Magic: Heroes of Might & Magic VIII gets released, they need to move forward with the timeline. I'm genuinely fed up with prequels, interquels, etc. Come on, I want to know what happened after the events of Dark Messiah (and no, Heroes: Kingdoms doesn't count.) We've been waiting for 9 years to find out!

I understand this, but it is not a reality any more (it was some decades ago). In current reality (planet Earth 2015) games are bugfests at release and companies are amoral in general. And this trend gets worse. I mean, I find it highly unlikely that a mystical development team backed by a morally correct publisher will magically pop-up in the future who will deliver a bugfree H8 game for you in the near future. So its time to lower our expectations and live with what we have.

Void town, Sea Elf/Pirate town, Free Cities town, etc... Hell, the way Ashan is done allows at least two different towns per faction actually, which would actualy be a pretty cool idea (selecting a town subtype) they will never happen since budget, but for example
Haven (Griffin Duchy inspired, sunny and stuff, white knighty stuff) vs Castle (Wolf duchy inspired, winter, dark knights etc)
Necropolis (Spideropolis) vs Mausoleum (Gothic Stuff)
Dungeon (Dark Elves) vs Grotto (Greek/DnD creatures Town)
Academy (House Materia) vs Tower (House Anima)
Sylvan (Elf town) vs Rampart (Nature town)
and so on.

Great policy, my friend! If things get worse, get used to them. This is exactly the worst we can do! I find your tactic of not buying games until they're patched a great act of opposition against such misdeeds. We pay for the product and we not only have right to expect a properly functioning game but it is devs' and publishers' duty to ship it in a proper state. I'm sure you wouldn't accept a situation when you buy a broken TV and customer service says "I'm sorry for the inconvienience, we'll fix that in 5 months" or when you go to the cinema to see a movie with CG effects, part of them is till in the green screen state and after you watch you get an info that "finished scenes will be presented in 3 months time." Moreover, I'm certain you'd be outraged! If so, then why would accept something similar with video games?

End of Ashan, new world, new visuals, new factions etc is personally what I’d like to see.
Bitula said: So its time to lower our expectations and live with what we have.
I really couldn’t disagree more, for I don’t see any valid reason why I should accept to live with crap "because it’s the way it is". Also Witcher III is a very good example proving you wrong, quality does exist on "planet Earth, 2015".
GenyaArikado said: the way Ashan is done allows at least two different towns per faction actually
This is a valid point, but as I answered to Pawek, I’d rather have a whole new setting with what it would have to offer.

well the reality is, there are still far more than enough excellent games like Pillars of Eternity, Age of Wonders 3 etc coming out that respect the end user to prevent the horrible, low-effort unpolished bugfests from ever becoming the norm,
and horrible, low-effort, unpolished bugfests such as Tony Hawk 5 and Heroes 7 clearly continue to be blasted into oblivion by bad press, so I don't think anyone's expectations are soon to change lol
we already have great games, and will continue to be given great new games for our dollar, so obviously crappy new games for our dollar are not something we have any obligation or reason to accept or live with, we're not beggars lol

This is fallacious, for Ashan is taking its dump on the original universe in the first place.
