Don't worry, they have long since left the building. They disappeared shortly after Heroes 7 was announced  .

The animated spiders are the h7 ones with some tweaks. The black spider is just a recolor and with the spikes toned down, the giant spider is the cosmic spider aka the champion creature of the Moon Base from Ashan to the trashcan mod.

With AC mod, they can get rid of spiders in their own armies at least (if it ever gets finished).

True, it always reminds me of Dark Messiah. I have no major problems with spiders in real life but I really hated them in that game. It was really disgusting to see spiders, suddenly appearing, moving towards you when you had no mana left (or the mana potion somewhere in the inventory without any time find and use it)... And they were coming closer and closer until they jumped at you and poisoned you.
Or it was so, until I found the fire sword
