I'm just wondering about all those negativity.
Sorry about that. I did not count myself under "those who are happy about the game", since I have not sang praise of it since Faces beat Blades.

No, it is not. It about appreciation of Aesthetics. Which is by definition subjective and irrational.

and I'd say you should probably be further separating Marzhin, who ostensibly cares about the MM series, from Erwan and the Ashan team, who care about Ashan
doubt anyone else in Ubi has even finished one of the MM RPG games lol
Wow, you're such a pessimist. I highly doubt they will do that crap again.
That goes without saying, though I do not share your point of view about Ashan.
Surprisingly, I'm gonna agree here, Marzhin looks like the only one who played M&M RPG, maybe some Limbic members also (but they remain in shadows.

About negativity - I seriously recommend not reading the blog comments. Even popular Jeremiah pales in comparison to what's happening right now and there's no moderating on the blog.
And I agree that here on HC people at least try to remain civil, for which I respect this forum.
I really hope it's THE update on website, we waited too long...

Well, it's my personal opinion, that it's okay to say, if you're not d'accord with the decisions been made, but at least it has been work and much of thinking of the people behind it.
I am sure, that they are in that project with their heart (maybe not as intensively as all of you). It's rude just to call it all crap, just because it doesn't fit your expectations.
May the stoning begin.
Edit: that was not based on you personally, but on most of the comments I read the last days, especially about the necros.

You're missing collective unconsciousness. What is objective is that a drastic change in artistic direction will most likely displease most followers.

I figured that as well, since I haven't made my depreciation of the new necromodels public in the last few days. And if I would, I'd be a liar.
I don't think the new Necro Models bad. Neither do I think they are good. But insofar as the Skellie goes, I think it's a reasonable retool of the old model.

I think that there were reasons for that. If they fit us or not.
It's true, that the fanbase is really important, but I really don't get, why graphicmodels can cause such an impact. It's not like you gonna marry them and spend a lifetime with then. You just see them once in a while in the game.
IMHO the game succeed by a fun gameplay and a good feeling, not about the looks of some creatures.
But as I said - I may be a big exception of the most fans here.

Good thing the site is down for a while, at least now I don't have to be confronted with juvenile spamming - especially the spamspree initiated by Galaad. I'd like to see him do the same here. Oh wait, here there are mods watching. If only that was the case on MMH7.com, it would make the world a whole lot better.
What I dislike most in that conversation over there, is that those who like the new skeletons are confronted by a lot of hate, confronted by people openly saying they hate those with 'bad taste'. We have had armored skeletons before! The HoMM 3 unupgraded one was naked, ok, but the upgrade was not. Also, the HoMM 4 skeleton had armor, as did the HoMM 5 and 6 ones. The Hoplite in full armor is absolutely no exception there, maybe that he's wearing MORE armor in comparison to the others.
I like the new Skeleton. It looks evil, menacing, dreadful, and with Infinity Stone-like gems on his spider shield, he'll be a force of much awe in the game. Don't give me the 'but skeletons are raised by the masses after a battle'-kind of thing. Of course they are raised, but why can't they be given some armor? It's a fantasy game, maybe their armor was created by some arcane dark magic? It is not supposed to be 100% logical. If it was, it would ruin the game.

Wise words? Oh dear. How would the Pesants of HoMM 5 look mit gem-encrusted shields and a ton of armor?
Skeletons are CANNON FODDER - they should look like it, for frag's sake. You raise them by the dozens, they fall by the dozens. After all, gameplay should differ from faction to faction, and if there is ONE faction hat shouldn't care about cannon fodder one way or another than it's those who can raise the dead.
Next time around Zombies will probably look like the young Brad Pitt, because the next Necro incarnation may not only care about giving their cannon fodder top-tier gear, next time around they might also care about giving their rotten corpses top-tier looks.

Colossous/Titan looked a lot better "in-person" than I expected. Especially the upgrade. And the Konami code animation of titan is funny.

Im not thrilled by the skeletons look but i dont find it awful either. Simply the necromancers chose to outfit the skeletons themselves this time instead of using the armor they died with (which may suggest an origin different from a battlefield)
Or maybe they didnt and maybe we are watching dead shantiri or god knows what. Either way given Ashan rococo tendencies it makes sense that even the raised soldiers wear intrincante stuff
