Now, that is the weirdest topic thread, ever(to me, anyway)!
Yes, since MMH5:Hammers of Fate v.2.1.
I enjoyed that version of the H5 title in Fall of 2006. 8 years ago. And, still, enjoy it in the Tribes of the East v.3.1 as of, right now.
H6 feels like a very bad experience and, will, probably, never look at it, ever, again.

Heroes 5 Fortress is one of my top three favorite factions in the whole series, so yeah, make them separate.

This discussion only shows, that (not surprisingly) each player has his own views on the subject, so there won't be a compromise. Some want Tolkien-ish Elves faction, some (like me) would rather see factions that "attract" creatures with shared affinities, not based on their racial similarities. I think more variety is better. I share some views of the majority here, but Dave also has his point. His views might be controversial, but it's true that many of us are blinded by nostalgia. I too treat H3 as an almanac for many fantasy-based games, yet I know well it's not the most original game there is...
I think that with Ubi-Heroes the problem lies with gameplay. If gameplay (and all it's aspects, like the games stability, number of bugs etc) would be deep enough, people would be more willing to accept the lore, as bad as some may view it...
