Higher Angels as Heroes?
What do you think? Should we have higher angels(such as seraphs) as a hero class rather than a unit? Maybe having lesser angels as units. I.e. having a Seraphim as unit(like h5&h6) that obeys humans when the Seraphim are the higher order of angels... If Heroes VII will have 4 hero classes maybe they can be:
Paladin, Cleric, Archangel, Seraphim?
While the units can be Angel->Guardian Angel?
I don't know, but it doesn't make sense for Archangels and especially Seraphs to be under a human general's command.

Why would they have to be able to ride horses?
The heroes V inferno heroes did not use horses and in heroes VI there were plenty of campaign heroes that didn't.

Think you didn't get what LW was trying to say
I was thinking about this myself and I could definitely see some high rank creatures taking Hero roles. Though their skin should be enhanced a bit so they look like heroes and not just a regular creature. I see nothing wrong with that, and I think there's nothing that contradicts the lore.

as a hero class, i'd say a big phat no. as a hero in general is awesome. random creatures ascending to a hero status is perfect and always welcome.

We should only have Angel-types as hero classes, if the heroes in question are exclusively Angels to begin with.
I don't want Humans turning into Angels. Just because they are good fighters or magic-users.
Remember that Angels are a specific and distinctive Race. They are not Humans rewarded after death because they lived good lives.

+1
Haven is mainly a human faction, thus hero classes will be based around them. But having a few non-human heroes never hurts.

It's like in Heroes 3...
when you had a Devil hero, Xeron (in Armageddon's Blade). So why not an Angelic hero or two?
BTW- I also think there should be named Angels and Faceless as bosses, like in Heroes VI. In addition, the Dungeon Champion (if they make it) should be a choice between Faceless (as offensive spellcasters) and Hydras, with Black Dragons- and all other Dragons, except Bone Dragons perhaps- being exclusively Bosses or high-level neutrals, more powerful than the faction Champions.

Ofc humans don't turn into angels, WO, lol. Just heroes with different backgrounds! Take example from H3, where there were different races of heroes in every faction. Like troglodytes, minotaurs and humans in Dungeon; demons, efreeti and humans in Inferno; liches, vampires and again humans in necro...
Just browse here and see for yourself - Link
It was WAY better then and they should just work on that, rather than having only humans riding mounts everywhere

Oh, I know all that well and I fully agree. But that is not what this topic is about.

You appear to have misunderstood the topic.

Ok, I see now. Well, angels have ranks. I'm not sure but cherubim might be the highest while simple angels are lowest. But that's a bit besides the issue, which is having different types of heroes than just human, so a Seraph hero could work regardless of seraphs being Haven units too. We don't necessarily have to invent new angel ranks...

You might want to look into sphere classification before you assume a sphere is above another, LW.
And I doubt biblical classification is even needed here. I doubt classification is needed at all. We differentiate based on race, therefore the race of angels which is an elder race. So we can have angel heroes. Simple as that.

While I welcome the idea of a more diverse hero-pool, I don't want angels as hero class. That would be like making minotaur a hero class for dungeon.
What I disliked about heroes VI was the over-presence of humans in other races. Sactuary should be (mainly) populated by nagas and sharkmen, not by renegade humans. The other factions can use a bit more diversity, with minotaurs and perhaps even faceless for dungeon, harpies and centaurs for stronghold and of course angels for haven.

Heroes don't necessarily have to ride horses, yet that's always what we see from Ubi. Therefore you can't have angel heroes because Ubi wouldn't be able to fit the on horses.

Not in HeroesV, that was made when Ubi was in charge. Only Haven rode on horses, and Necro, if you count the undead horses.

Fit them on mounts, there. What now, demons in Heroes V? What are you Ubi's lawyer?

Nor in heroes VI, where there were several campaign heroes that did not ride horses, amongst which a (fallen) angel. From memory I can already list four nagas and a cyclops, but there were probably more.
