meroe said: Like Lex, my reaction has pretty much been Meh. I mean, come on, we've seen most of these actresses pretty much naked in movies and magazines all the damn time. A few leaked photo's is nothing. Probably good publicity for some of them. Great way to boost a flagging career ... leaking hazy smartphoned pictures of your privates lmao.
it has to do with what isn't supposed to be seen. the more mystery, the more intrigue. i remember reading something anton lavey said: he said that he noticed one time, at a strip club(i think), that men were not paying attention to the stripper, because a woman's slip was showing(this was in the 50's or something), in the audience. the men were far more attracted to that, because it was something more forbidden, hidden, or secretive. blatant sexuality lacks eroticism, on many levels. this is why, also, many men have clothes fetishes, and why non-nude models are still looked at with favor, even though the internet is swamped with nude and porn.
tldr; easy access isn't as tantalizing.
of course, i don't think many people grabbed the photos of kirsten dunst. they probably have to be somewhat attractive, too.

I agree Fredmelon. A little tantalizing peak and the promise of more hidden treasure, is far more appealing. Once you have seen them naked, there is no mystery anymore. Which is why you don't flash it all straight up. Unless you are a stripper, of course lol. Mind you boobs always seem to keep guys entertained regardless of how many times they have seen them.
But these so-called hacked photo's (not that I have seen them or anything), but there is just something in the back of my mind that seems to find this all too predicable and suspicious. I am betting that these 'photo's' have been photo-shopped within an inch of their lives. Hmmmm something is afoot.

I've seen them, meroe. They are not photoshoped, actually, in some of them, the victims are far less attractive than their polished studio work. In some, they are with men having intercourse etc etc. It's very far fetched to say they were all in on it, especially considering it's so many people at once.
Some of the photos basically look like not only porn but cheap porn.

Sometimes, celebrities will purposefully leak nude stuff because a bad publicity is better than none at all. Although that doesn't seem to be the case at all.

To be honest I am so damn smiling about all this matter because people do not realize how many of those are blatant fakes. There may have been a few which are legit but the fact is cross-checking the photos you should see so many inconsistencies that there is no chance of at least a healthy 80% of them being true. The pervy side of the media can just make of use of the whole shebang to push forward the fake photo material as noone (at least the big majority wont) will be able to doubt them.

People may take less nude pictures of themselves on their cell phones.
Cloud storage is cheap, but maybe you'll think about storing sensitive things on it, in the future.

No, but your savings are on insurance against a robbery with the bank and you individually lose nothing. Where as this is a situation in which they promise and advertise you 100 percent safe storage, you pay for that service and then somebody somehow gets in and does something that can not be undone, the result is irreversible by all means.

Comparable to heirlooms or family jewelry being stolen from your bank, so there should probably be some monetary compensation.
Of course, could be that the victims unwittingly gave the keys to the bank to the robber in this case. In that case, there probably shouldn't be compensation. The problem is that culpability is hard to figure out, sometimes.
Quote: Even if they were all using iCloud, it’s possible that there isn’t a security hole in iCloud itself but rather that celebrities had not properly secured their accounts with -- for instance -- hard-to-guess passwords
There we go. Culpability suddenly is very hard to figure out, unless the person who gained the pictures, suddenly published a book called "how I did it" with illustrative pictures. Or if Apple finds a security hole.

Hmm, not me.
100% of those celebrities leaked have well trained bodies, they do their gym everyday and will not let one single opportunity without showing the visible results (look respective fashion or movie public awards where they wear thiner clothes than my handkerchief).
So, in my case at least, I consider nothing to be ashamed of to show a really great body, and for more private areas, we are virtually surrounded by nudity anywhere. But I live in Europe, in US the interactivity with nudity is experienced differently.

So if your co-worker had an awesome body and you were friends and her photos were leaked would you tell her that "I think it's perfectly fine that your vagina is now all over the internet for thousands of men to watch, you are fit and all" ;P I bet your friendship would be short lived.

No, I would say "hide them better the next time" but for now stop snowing.
And btw, the photos leaked aren't so bad as some can imagine. The kind of pics we see often from paparazzi as well.

Seriously?
1. Why did they take the photos in the first place?
2. Why would someone store them on the internet? Didn't NSA taught anyone that nothing is safe? You got millions of dollars, you sure can afford a bigger harddisk
3. Why didn't they deny it? They could just have said they are Photoshopped and nobody would give a ****, they got hundreds of fake porn pics on the internet anyway

Obviously a violation of privacy, and the ones taking part in consuming the leaked images are contributors to that violation.
No amount of testosterone can excuse that.
The comments you can read on the internet surrounding this are bizarre, people think they have THE RIGHT to these images.

yeah, it is wrong. it's an invasion of privacy, for sure. but what can be hacked, will. just like what can be taken from the earth to benefit humans, will. humans don't really have boundaries, when it comes to their own personal welfare.
if people want something, they'll take it from anywhere. there aren't really any borders. it's hypocritical of people to say, "you can't do this, or you can't do that", whenever they themselves "do" all the time.
those people who spoke up about their lives being invaded, they don't give it a second thought, of what animals' lives were invaded, for the sake of their cosmetics, or perfume. or where their furniture came from. or their food. or the resources used to power their homes.
no, that's a perfectly acceptable invasion.
